Well this is a first, never seen one of these before![big grin]

I've seen hundreds of gas giants with water-based life, but never a water giant. I've always wanted to see one though :(

Just had a search through the forums, apparently these are rare but not very profitable data wise.

Still, it's good to have affirmation once and a while, that despite many many hours of exploring, there's still lots that can surprise! :)

I've found two. One in the Omega Nebula (OMEGA SECTOR EL-Y D215, Planet 6), the other one is undiscovered so I'm keeping that to myself :D.
Also found a few Helium-Rich Giants.

I'm elite in Exploring and I think I've seen 4 or 5 of these, so a pretty rare find even if it isn't worth much.

I had to add Water Giants to Captain's Log last year because I didn't know they existed until someone found one ;)

I've only seen a few water giants in my time, mainly because they're further out than most other gas giants.

One thing I've never seen for myself is a helium giant.

Literally just found one of those:

Helium Rich no less!

Although it does look shockingly identical to a water giant...

I've got one somewhat near my home system of HIP 16607. The system is HIP 18187 and the Water Giant is the 8th planet in the system so, 18187-8. Looks a lot like Jupiter and it has no rings.

Check it out on the Galaxy Map if you want to read this type of planet's stats in the INFO tab for HIP 18187. :)
