water parks

I would love to see a water park add-on put into this game. It would be everything to me to see guests going down awesome water-slides, or to see them have fun in a wave pool, or relaxing in a beautiful hot tub area. I miss those things SO much from roller coaster tycoon 3. Or how about an aquarium like there was in Roller Coaster Tycoon 3. Seeing people observing and getting to observe myself in first person would be everything. Or to make it easier for Frontier, how about just giving us more aquatic animatronics like swimming fish and an octopus, or maybe giant tentacles coming out of a dark cave, or a crab moving around, or an eel coming out of an opening. We already have the underwater bubbles and glass in the game, so that would work perfectly. To add to that effects give us some underwater foliage like coral reefs, sea weed, etc.

I have been waiting for a water park DLC since last summer. For me, its the missing piece of the puzzle because its what I expect from amazing parks. I have stopped playing this game because I always find myself trying to build a water/summer theme, but then i remember the saddening fact that there are actually no water slides or pools. I am starting to wonder if the devs are holding back because its not in demand, which would be extremely shocking, but it could be true.

Rest assured that is clearly not the case given it's arguably the most requested addition to the game on this forum. Whether it's currently in the pipeline, who knows? [wacky] If it is it would take quite a bit of development time so all we can do is wait and see..

I my humble opinion.... and it is just that: my opinion... it doesn't quite fit to Theme Parks. Yes i know there are Water Parks, and yes they are Fun. But i myself don't seem them as Theme Parks. Sure, the "Soaked" Addon brought a lot of awesome things to the RCT3, but i always felt weird putting a Pool in my Park. In my mind these things are seperate Things. This is not to say they shouldn't do it, but there are other things i would like to see first, before they start going into that direction.

There are still (what i consider) Core Attractions that could be added, Coaster and Flatride wise to bridge some Gaps.

IF they are going to include a Waterpark DLC, Addon... thing, then i would love to see:

- Underwater view (maybe even Underwater Paths, for related Aquarium fun.

- Additional Water Rides, such as Paddle Boats, Submarine Ride, Aquatopia style Tracked Ride, and maybe the Water Teacups Ride:

Maybe even a Waterscreen to project images and Videos on.

Under Water vegetation and Rocks, such as Corals, Algea, Sea Weeds and Reefs.

Also i would love to see a revolving light that we could use for Lighthouses.

This all aside from the Standard Pools and Slides and stuff which to me are less useful.

Loads of themeparks have waterparks, but in relation to the amount of themeparks/ amusement parks there are in the world, it's a definite minority that have waterparks.

I would love a waterpark expansion. On top of a million other things I'd like ;)

Every hotel, also has a pool/waterpark. So if planco has given us hotels, they surely need to give us waterpark dlc. And in my opinion this game deserve's/needs such a addition. Not that i'm expecting that though! Maybe in the summer-update 2022 if we are lucky.

I do share Crowdpleaser's opinion.

It are mostly the companies that run themeparks, that run waterparks as well, that happen to be placed next to a theme park and share an entrance, but they are 2 different things,

I'm not against, but I'm also not jumping of joy for this kind of expansion.

My biggest complain at the moment for this would be that a lot of people on this forum are complaining about the quality of the water, so if they do not improve that I would strongly advise against bringing out an update like that as it would increase negative feedback on that matter. And I do not think we will see better water effects anytime soon.

How does it not fit? 9 out of 10 theme parks in the United States have a waterpark attached.[yesnod]

This fact is based of what? Please don't say Universal Studios or Disney/ Yes, both companies have water parks but they are a completely separate park, not integrated into the main them parks themselves. I agree with Crowdpleaser here. Water parks would be fun but it should be its own game/separate from the current theme parks we are building in Planet Coaster. Seems weird to put big swimming pools in the parks. I know this probably do exists but not in 90% of the parks as you suggested.

With the current lack of water physics I am not sure it is even feasible or realistic to expect water parks within the current Planet Coaster universe.

Well while there are many opinions in this thread,it would definitely fit as the big summer update that's probably already in the works.I mean we know from Steam DB that they are indeed working on something and i would totally not be against waterparks, when they do them. Like Crowdpleaser i think however there are still more important "basic" features left in the game, especially in the area of dark rides and kiddie rides, the standard rides are missing(doombuggy, kiddie tracked rides).Still i wouldn't be complaining if they do waterparks[wink].

PS: We all know that waterparks will be a dlc if they come right?[yesnod]

Let's hope Waterparks comes to Planet Coaster also more flat rides as well. On Steam db there is some activity yesterday so they are definitely working on something.

Parks with water parks attached:
Cedar Point
Kings Island
Kings Dominion
Carrowinds
Busch Gardens Tampa
Busch Gardens Williamsburg
Dorney Park
Californians Great America
I think EVERY Six Flags
Canada's Wonderland
Need I go on? Adding Water Parks to existing theme parks has been a major thing in the states since the 80s.

The last newsletter mentioned "while we work on more Planet Coaster goodness"
Of course they are working on something, it's their job.

Yeah the last build update was a month ago so there's not actually that much activity on that front, of course they can be working on things behind the scenes still. Once Jurassic World comes out next month that should free up some more resources for PC development [up]

A lot of people seem to think that a water park "doesn't fit" with theme parks, but I believe I found a solution that may work for all of us.

If a water park DLC is ever released, the people who want it can purchase it, and the people who dont want it can ignore it; similar to other DLC for Planet Coaster.

Anyone agree with this?
