Ways to make some credits except mining?

I've been making some money mining Gold and Platinum, i'd like to engage in other activities, but i have no idea where to start.

I'm new to the game, this is literally my second day playing.

I have a eagle and i'd like to use it for something else!

I need suggestions :D

Try and upgrade all your internals to class D of the same size, learn how to spin and strafe with flight assist off and go kill some pirates. If you want to make hitting things easier put some gimballed weapons on it.

The Eagle is primarily a light combat ship, so maybe you should try some of that. Sell your refinery and mining laser and invest in some weapons that suit your combat style. If you have the money, upgrade your ship with a better reactor and power distributor - a lot of people overlook that fact that these two are the backbone of your vessel and the more power you can send to thrusters/weapons/shields the better the upgrades you can fit and the sweeter the performance. If you decide combat is your thing then work towards a Viper, but always remember that if you buy one do it somewhere that allows you access to a better FSD.

Edit: ^ This. Try fixed and gimballed weapons to see which you get on with. Fixed have more punch for a given size/class but if your flying is a bit erratic gimballed give you more hits at the cost of lower damage per hit.

Visit some Unknown Signal Sources, you could find some pirates wandering around or even some lost cargo (they will be considered as stolen when you scoop them, you'll need to avoid authority ships and sell them to black market).

Pirates can be also found in extraction sites, which they are usually located near asteroids rings.

I don't recommend you to go on conflict zones, it's not profitable and you could die a lots.

The fastest and easiest way to make credits is to install a kill warrant scanner, jump the nearest Anarchy system, camp out at the nav beacon, then wait for ships to warp in to the area. Scan each ship as they exit FSD, and if they have a bounty, kill them. You can make $100,000 per hour with no trouble at all.
