If you actually read my post, I said about patching of nerfing or buffing of ships! which should have been set in stone WAY before release!

Not really. Balancing always happens after release of a game of this scale. You have to see how your playerbase uses the tools you gave them, and adjust accordingly. Which is exactly what FD is doing.

If FDEV thinks it can live off the mature, un-entitled members of the community - I'm sure it will work itself out.
Seeing as though a good many wont move from Falcon 4, i don't know if that market can sustain the personnel needed.

I AM entitled, that's what money is FOR.

It's funny to me that people like to say this industry's customers are entitled. Why did you decide to sell to them?
This is the only industry you can get away with this, because we all assume anyone who works in it is us, and we try to give them the benefit of the doubt.

This new biz model is ridiculous and unsustainable. There's so much built in hate for the consumer already.

That is speedily changing, blow the bridge once you cross it if you please. But the next sell will be harder.
What the hell are you talking about? What "hate"? Do you have any idea how game development works, or you're just saying things that sound fancy? Not even the biggest devs have the ability to QA the game until all of the bugs are squashed. It is financially impossible. Bugs and mistakes and wrong decisions are a part of game development. Because unlike a toaster, that you buy 100% finished, games a rarely ever finished in the same way that toasters are. Especially games like ED. Try to understand that before talking about "hate".

we can chock this one up to cultural differences, ya'll got some old world lazzie fair thing goin on I don't completely understand yet

I find it quite embarrassing that people make threads like this. its really not constructive or helpful, quite the opposite really.
I just hope the FD team don't think we are all like this. I'm happy with the game, does it have issues? yes, but I am confident they will be fixed in time and more content will be coming along.

I totally agree with this, worst fear is FD get so ed off with all the whining they just pack up shop and move on to something else whilst DB plays ED on his own private server :)

Same it makes me think we need some kinda age limit on the forums.

I'm sorry to say that I agree. Everyone needs to take a few deep breaths.

built in consumer hate :

consoles
release then patch methodology
nostalgia plays
selling games off prerendered footage
deliberately misleading consumers and setting false expectations for profit
word plays about the definitions of "beta" or "promised" or "complete"
catering to a market to for a predefined fiscal goal, then cutting market at the knees
trying to turn an obvious product into an ambiguous service

just cus ppl do it don't mean it's right or it is good for the long term

i could keep going, yes I work in game development, and yes the last year scared me away from crowdfunding before game is 90% complete - this game in particular

anything else?
