We developed the ultimate Python Mk2 Core Bomber, which can "solo" the Titan

I don't quite get it, the topic seems to be about solo sailing.

It was for a comparison purpose—the question was whether premium ammunition must be used, and my secondary point was that not even relaxing the conditions is enough to avoid premium ammunition!

I'm getting about 14 - 20mil per venting run with the 5 shard build. Pretty crazy.

This is after 2 self destructs due to running out of ammo:

My best attempt at 6 vents closed. I can't reach the core in time if I close 7 vents.

Assuming you would like to reach more vents, are you able to make a video?

I can reach all eight vents reliably, although notably I find that it really needs Flight Assist disabled and all Thruster directions used to direct boosts around the circuit. If it helps to see another view of it, here is the video I linked earlier (actually from ~9 hours before this thread!). Even that is a few seconds slower than my quickest circuit, and it should be quicker still if one uses a lighter hull armour.

I suck at FA-off, only using it to make tight 180 turns.

I actually rewatched your video just now to see what I did wrong and true enough, FA-off is the key here.

But it's alright, 6 vents is good enough for me.

I've done two completed runs with a shard Python II, one with premium ammo, and one with standard ammo. Premium ammo can get you up to 150-160M for expending all the ammo, while standard ammo lands at ca 130M credits for expending all the ammo.

Where do I go to get the AGF engineer?

Ram Tah, at Phoenix Base in the Meene system! If not yet unlocked, the path is Dweller followed by Cheung.

And what do I need?

You need:
  • Caustic Crystals found drifting around in an active Maelstrom cloud, or on rare occasions around a destroyed Titan.
  • Hardened Surface Fragments from the surface of an active Titan; they are quite small and you need to get close to target them, and I may make a video if many Commanders have trouble with it. They can appear on either side, although usually I check the Core side. They need to be shot free with a weapon, although using a Abrasion Blaster gives many more items than using a laser.
  • Tactical Core Chips, which can be salvaged occasionally from destroyed Revenants and Banshees. As mentioned recently here alongside a means of listing viable locations, said locations are becoming increasingly rare. The best is an active Spire site, which we need T. Cocijo to reoccupy before that is available, but otherwise you can use Military settlements in Thargoid-controlled systems—the few which remain!
Assuming you reach engineer rank 5 first, each weapon needs two Fragments, one Crystal and one Core Chip.

Additional: I forgot to mention that salvaging a Tactical Core Chip can be done from the air; despite being too small for sensors beyond ~50 m, Collector limpets are very apt at sensing items on the ground!

Ooops. Yes I have Ram Tah, and lots of Crystals, but HSF and TCC - zilch.
I tried getting stuff from Live Titan Thor- but it was totally Aggroed as I got near to use Abrasion Blaster on it and had 3 rebuys before gave up - same with Spire Site - 2 rebuys - never went back.
I was in K2 at 18% cold running, with TVBeam in case required and never boosted but still got totally aggroed.

Ah well, back to my trusty AXMR's for core and AXMC's for AXCZ's :( .

BTW tried a few Controls around Mapon (including a LOT at Mapon - Got Tier 1!!!!), but at all local controls I have found around this area were with AXCZ's 104,000 to 160,000LS out!!!

Hey! loving this build, thanks for posting. Even when the heatsinks run out, i can still rack up runs getting only a little damage, does'nt seem overly reliant on them. Even just getting 4 vents gets an easy 15 million.

This build really is a very good one, I only truly dislike advices about "magic" premium rearm via purposely done ship destruction. It do not make any logical (RP) sense, it is at best a bug or long-time ignored poorly implemented mechanism, at worst kind of exploit. But mainly, it is not needed at all except for few cmdrs wishing to be Top10. You can very reliable solo, with average piloting skills, get 9-10M CBs every run, and you can with some practice do many runs with zero hull damage till ammo lasts limited with only one need to synth heat sinks. @CMDR Mechan

My best single run so far was 12,7M, and I do not have medium shard unlocked, means using only 4 large shards with normal ammo. The worst run was 3M and I did numerous mistakes (late run start, pips management fail, heat sinks poor use, late arrival at heat core, no energy in weapons …)

Note: … with AX missiles it will be less damage, but isn’t needed unlocking shards

While i agree, selfdestruct premium rearm is intended game mechanism

Seriously? Any official source please? It’s nonsense from every angle I can look on it. Please it’s not aimed at you or anyone personally, I only do not understand a reason why this should be intended :)

Any official source please?
just because of this thread i checked with fdev. the reasoning was very weak, something like cmdrs already pay the rebuy and when you selfdestruct you lose your exploration data and cargo and things, like the few rebuy cr are comparable in value to the guardian mats you have to farm...
but its such a grain of sand in the sea of bugs its whatever
tbh i just wish op of such advices would have this info on hand himself before posting so that other people dont have to community note his guides but oh well

Strange, looked not the first post and the author for some reason has not corrected his build to the optimal. Although during the discussion came to the conclusion that you need to redo ...
