Good thing that the world is quite a bit larger then the united states and that we even have data for it.I'm sorry, but I don't think we should get them. Like paul said, they're considered a pest over here in the states, and I can't remember a zoo I've gone to that had them. They're also kind of boring tbh. That's the same reason I was against the inclusion of the European Badger.
What about wolves, and other canines? They Live in large packs.Really like raccoons but would prefer to see Coati first.
But I love both and want them in the game.
We also really do need carnivores that needs to live in large groups.

How is it cruel???? Racoons are very common in captivity!Seems rather cruel to me tbh. A raccoon isn’t really meant for zoo life and is definitely not endangered by no means. I don’t really have a problem in getting one but for me honestly I could think of hundreds of more interesting animals to have in planet zoo. In a choice between a Hamadryas baboon and raccoon it’s no choice at all. I’m taking the baboon hands down but if we got enough animals sure I’ll take a raccoon but if not it won’t ruin my day.
In my opinion this could be said about every wild animal. We’ve actually kept one as a pet till it got old enough to put back in the wild. We found it abandoned for a few days with no site of the mother. They are wild animals and do become quite naughty as they get older. So it was kinda nice to release her. I said cruel because they really aren’t the type of animals that enjoy captivity. They are quite mischievous and enjoy coming and going as they please. A animal meant to roam freely without the confinement of a cage or exhibit. The wolverine is actually the same way and very similar in that regard.
Your experience with one animal does not take away from the success that hundreds of institutions have with holding raccoons. You said you want baboons but would you say that if you held a pet baboon and then released it? It is subject to your own experiences... and keeping an animal as a pet is not the same as keeping it in a zoo environment. We’ve actually kept one as a pet till it got old enough to put back in the wild. The game is not catering solely to people who witness raccoons in daily life... For me as someone in Britain I can only see a raccoon at a zoo! The game shouldn't not include animals because "they are ones I see in the wild, not in zoos" as that would be catering to a sole region... personally I did not mind additions such as the European badger because of a reason like "they are common in the wild here and not too seen in zoos" because I actually wanted badgers as they are an absolutely iconic species and would be a unique animal. This has nothing to do with pet keeping or personal experience lol. The experience was not bad at all. I just stated the facts. The opinion comes from personal observations from them. As I said I live in Michigan where they are quite common and quite easy to observe. And yes based off being around these guys and living on a daily basis around them it would seem cruel to confine one. Successful or not in captivity. That’s probably the problem for me tho I come from a country that they are very common so the thought of going to a zoo to see a raccoon is honestly pretty strange. Your baboon comparison seems quite ridiculous honestly. To me in a limited slot game and if it came down to the baboon or raccoon yes I would definitely go with the baboon as I find it to be a much better fit for the game and a animal I’d much rather pay to see
