Weak and cheap is fun too

Personally I'm loving my pimped out cobra. I'm not going to be space trucking, min/maxing cargo runs just so I can get a bigger ship to be bored in.

Well said OP. People can play the game any way they want, but I just don't feel the need to amass huge amounts of money. One day I'll get there but only after I've thrashed the pants out of my Sidey / Eagle / Viper etc.

I am not interesting in money either, just enough to keep me fueled and healthy.

My main points of playing are exploration and lore. I want too see the galaxy's wonders and hopefully read background information, or find out what's happening in various areas.
Try to immerse myself in the world and hopefully be supprised by stuff.

I do think FD needs a little more effort on this aspect of the game, but I am sure they will get there.

Have a cobra and not even 100k in credits. I've just go where I want and do missions and fuel scoop to cover fuel. I don't do grind. It may be why I have no cash, but I have not yet burned out, complained or whined about anything yet either!
This -With exception that I fly a Viper but having fun bounty hunting and exploring a bit on the side. Trade has never been for me in any game I've played but I cannot knock trading, if you have patience for it then it is definitely great way to make some cash. Grinding for some is ok but it burns many out (including myself)

I'm one of those players that is just flying around making trade runs and doing whatever missions I can. I don't play that much right now but I did play Elite and Frontier in the past so it's completely familiar too me (I hate the outfitting screen though).

So I made my first 100k and bought my first ship which I had planned, a hauler. I always make more money as a rule because I want money left over to buy goods and upgrades if I want them (and now insurance) so I upgraded the cargo holds to 2x8 tons.

Since then I've been doing trade runs but my trade route I was using at the start systems near Evarate became annoying. Too many people trying to land on 4 pads at another close by system so I decided to leave and I've started heading towards Sol :)

On my journey I've flown around and through planetary rings, seen different types of stars, scanned new systems (Which I'm sure everyone else has done too) and almost got my ass handed to me, just escaping by the skin of my teeth.

Now I'm far away and I have to turn back. My friend can't make the jump to Ross 720 (I think) - the distance is just too great and he's only just started. I'm heading back. I'm going to drop 4 tons of palladium for him to pick up and sell so he can get a hauler too and then we're off!

We've just started the game but for the immediate future, these will be the kinds of things I'll want to do.

1 Training - First off I need to show my mate the little I know but he already knows the basics so we have finding USS's for missions, scanning planets, going over the hud and system screens in more detail.

2 - Gotta take him to a saturn like planet and do an asteroid race :)

3 - Gotta do a race around a space station too

4 - More flying but this time we'll go over the nuances of flight - using and turning off FA, working out combat maneuvers and tactics, etc - both of us are seasoned Falcon 4 pilots so this is going to be familiar.

5 - Missions and Trade runs

These are my immediate short term goals but there's a lot there to get on with and keep us occupied for a few hours :)

What are your plans...?

I have three ships in the starports at the moment and enough money to deck out one or two more for various other uses but when I really just want to have fun, I get the Eagle. The view and maneuverability are out of this world.

I may be rolling in a Python for the heavy lifting, but stopping to buy a Sidewinder with an interdictor and an improbable loadout is great fun to be letting off steam :)

Those poor NPCs don't stand a chance ;)

+1. I have a fully loaded sidey parked for just these kind of occasions. I love breaking that thing out when I'm board. Taking out Cobras in it is a blast.
