Weapon mods Scope.

I agree - I did just that for my Stealth Mission Tormentor - much easier than shocking NPCs to death 😈 Hip Fire Accuracy might make sense on this one.

That's how I understood it, not quite sure how YDis is using the Executor that benefits using Hip Fire - I tend to be static, crouched and ADS when using it, whereas my idea of Hip Fire is more like:

But I am no expert 🤷‍♀️ And 'Stability's description is just 'recoil reduction'. One to think about :)
There will be videos demonstrating how I'm using the Executioner with hip fire soon enough don't worry ;)

Until now, it's 90% most effective with ADS (and faster handling makes that much smoother too). Hip firing with stock is too inaccurate to be used beyond point blank range reliably.

The accuracy mod changes that though.

It's sort of that, Fact, yes. But Inara's got this one wrong:

Both the mats (look at that list!) and the actual mod.

It tightens the spread when firing from the hip. The video you posted isn't useful because you're not showing a comparison.

I'm 1-2 missions away from getting this on my Exe and I will be posting a proper comparison video. Maybe tomorrow. But looking at that blue line above in my pic, that's going to be a nice enhancemnt.

Just a side note: Spread reduces when firing crouched (significantly). And increases dramatically if you move.
the name was changed since then. in update 1 it was just improved accuracy, in update 2 they changed the name to hip-fire

Engineered my G5 Aphelion today with a Scope...

no scope I

standard scope

different settlement, this is why I put up another no scope pic to compare...

and with modded scope:

Lastly a rough comparison by px count:

Basically the normal Aphelion scope magnifies roughly x1.25-1.3, while the engineered better scope magnifies x1.62.

Not sure if that is really worth it 🤷‍♂️

Lol, I just noticed the optics of the scope have changed. Didn't realize in game and while paintjobbing the pics

Man reading this threat made me realize I'm gonna have to have multiples of each weapon and have them modded different for stuff dammit!

Not really honestly. Thank goodness most mods are sidegrades, the reall oomph comes from upgrading the suits and weapons to G5.

My G5 Mave (without any resistance mods) can survive 4 executioner rounds.

All my suits are G3/G4 right now, I found a bunch of G2 suits and upgraded them then found a G3 suit and go it, all my weapons are G2 currently not engineered, so I need to get that done but it's more I got distracted and went out to where the guardian site was found and stayed there for a few days lol.

Scopes reduce weapon spread during ADS, which is only relevant for the Shotgun, Laser Carbine and Laser Pistol. as these are the only weapons that ADS doesn't just set spread to 0. Note that this is before recoil is modeled. These are the only guns that have a degree of innate "Spread".

Laser Rifle and Plasma Sniper have scopes installed, putting another 'Scope" on improves the zoom, and is worth doing more so on the Aphelion, as its hitscan nature lets you take full advantage of greater range.

Would you be willing to put this in the Mechanics and Mods thread? This is valuable information.

Right now these are just observations, I'd prefer to reserve the mechanics thread for thoroughly tested things. Observations are a good starting point, but there's probably a lot more nuance I'm just plain missing.

while looking at the shops, (in case they had any pre-engineered weapons that'd come in handy) I found an Oppressor with the Scope Mod, and thought I'd share so others will know.
Apparently, it's as if it took the Executioner's (the "DMR") and replaced the Oppressor's stock scope.

I've been running it on my Oppressor for a while now and I love it. Here's an example of an Oppressor with the Scope mod in some typical gameplay:

It does magnify your perceived recoil, so keep that in mind when applying it - you'll have to counter it harder. On the plus side, it does not magically change color when aiming down the sights - that bothered me to no end on the stock sight :p
