Hardware & Technical Weird joystick combo question...

I have a Thrustmaster T16000 which I absolutely love and don't want to replace as it satisfies my every need (I'm still new to space games, but really love the precision of this joystick). However, I think a dedicated throttle will definitely help the immersion factor in ED. I lucked out and found a guy that is selling a Saitek X52 with a button defective on the joystick. I offered him 60$ for the kit, and he confirmed me that it is the throttle that has the USB plug and that Windows reconize it perfectly as a standalone device even if the joystick is not connected.

I'm in Canada, so even the cheapest CH standalone throttle is 149$... I think it's a no brainer in my case. What do you guys think? It should work no?

I'm personally not one for buying used items. But shopping deals like that is always nice especially when it's cheaper then new stuff, yet still in decent condition.

Me personally...? I'd save up for a shiny new joystick.

Ok I got the joystick, and I repaired the defective button. It's now working like a new one, and while I like the feeling of the T16000M, I can definitely say I like the HOTAS setup a whole lot more, and the stick itself, while being little too smooth compared to the T16000M, has a lot more buttons and I like to use it a lot. Piloting a spaceship with this is ridiculously enjoyable.

Well I'm glad it worked out for you!

Your enthusiasm may have just convinced me to get a HOTAS. I don't know why but I enjoy Stick and Keyboard.
