Weird question about selecting water

I've run into an issue over and over where I build a water habitat with lots of rocks and so on, but then I need to empty the water for a few to fix something. But I sometimes find it impossible to select the water. Every time I try to click on it, I get one of the rocks.

Am I missing something. Is there a special water selecting shortcut for a habitat that doesn't require one to click directly on the water?

Have you tried the water select tool?

Okay, that's something I never really noticed before Thanks!

I'll give it a try. Hopefully it will select the closest water?
