With all the tension on the forum following the recent Xbox One release and CQC announcements, it's easy to forget that the community is about to grow quite a bit with all the console players who will buy the game and join our galaxy.

So I'd just like to welcome all the new commanders who are discovering the game now on console. I hope you will enjoy the game and find your place in our little community. The galaxy is large enough to share with everybody! :)

They will only add excitement when they start discovering the game, like we had 6 months ago.

Hi there, new member here.

Firstly congrats to the frontier team on such an outstanding game. I've been playing elite from childhood to my grand old age of 40 now.

There are obviously some little niggles along the way, but do you know what, I feel like I am part of something quite extraordinary.

How could you better a game that could NOT have been bettered.

Big ups to you frontier developments.!!!!

my last favorite space sims were freelancer and independence war 2. over the years ive drifted towards being primarily a console gamer, occasionally playing pc now and then. out of all the early access space games on steam nothing gained my attention, even the X series. this game however is giving me oldschool nostalgic vibes of the previous two games. i have been waiting for literally a DECADE for a space sim of this caliber, im highly impressed and incredibly appreciative for this gem. honestly cant believe im playing a game with such deep mechanics. theyve done a phenomenal job of streamlining the ui for consoles:S what sorcery is this lol.

Its been a long time since I sat in the cockpit of a cobra back in the c64 days...got the xbox version today so looking forward to seeing how the universe has changed...(wonder if I can stick one of my old millitary lasers on my shiny new ship?)

Wot ho! Another oldtimer here. My eleven year old self spent way too many nights playing Elite on the speccy... never got to Elite, Deadly was all I could manage, but I still remember that first "right on commander!".

Gave up on PC gaming some years ago (around time daughter was born), so my gaining is now console based in the living room... Was contemplating upgrading my old system, but it was going to cost far too much so I was chuffed to bits to see it come to the Xbone. Couldn't jump in quick enough when I saw the beta availability.

Thanks for the welcome, I feared the worst when I read some of the responses when the console release was first mentioned.

Yes, welcome all 60,000 of you (so far)!! :)

Can't give more accurate numbers sadly since the backers app page stopped showing the numbers previously today. :(

The previous 24-period showed this though:

And until the numbers stopped they were easily tracking to break that daily number today, ending up somewhere north of 30,000. :)

Glad to be part of the group.. amazing that such a memorable game from my childhood (same as Argy101), I have really appreciated the information overload and support network here. As a newly minted Commander on the XB1, I look forward to making this game something that MY kids will be astounded and love for yeras to come as well.

Keep up the amazing work - the infancy of this game is amazing and I look forward to seeing how it continues to grow!

But..but... this can't be, we were told you were all gatorade swilling "dudebros" who would inevitably destroy our game with your incessant foul-mouthery and ship to ship teabagging?!

Not really of course, I have an xbox too! Welcome everyone, so nice to have you all..!

It will be even more if Elite Dangerous Early Acces will be available in the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg.

Really hope we can buy, and Download this game soon in these regions.

Some of you any idea when this will happen?

Soon to be 60 year old gamer here (retired bricklayer) and I have joined the fray. This is my first Elite game and I am having fun learning how to pilot my spaceship. As far as I can tell, it only gets better from here on out. Oh, one more thing: RIP The Witcher 3.

Today I've contacted both Microsoft and Frontier to try to understand who decides which store game is enabled or not. Well, didn't understand anything, nobody seems to know anything. ED isn't available in my country too, I've just bought it in a different country. But I guess you need some sort of enabled payment method or gift cards.
I was waiting for this game for 20 years, couldn't wait for one more day. ;P

David Braben just replied on one of my questions about this on Twitter.

He is noted, and is looking in to it. Hope this will solve this issue for me aswell soon..
