Not a rant, i like a challenge, ive used my vulture and my FAS and tbh a Conda out-turning a vulture???? with seemingly infinite boosts and chaff?? A conda staying nose to nose with one of tha fastest rotating ships in the game the "FAS"    !!!!

Fallout 4 far harbour here i come.....

Were you, by any chance, involved in a lucrative mission? If a mission seems too good to be true, I've found I can expect an interdiction 100% of the time. FOOM. End of mission, end of ship.

It cant out turn you , in fact it did not.
What the AI does is a very good boost turn. pips management is key.

The AI is fine , the loadouts maybe , maybe not but the AI can only get better from here

Pretty much sums it up, people have been getting an easy ride prior to 2.1

Realism is something very relative in Elite and in sims in general, but enemies bumping onto you like moths on a lamp is not very much reminiscent of a dogfight.

I'm same, basic missions deliver medicine in the python, bang Conda interdicted, we'll end of my ship.

new ship, try complete the same mission,    , again same but now Gunship with a scrape runaway back to the station. Trade the python back to an ASP, no choice on this one.

upgrades on the game are great but geez, spend days trying to get $$$ legitimately to lose most of it in 1hr???
really?

I bet many of us have lost many ships and lost much of our bank. Lessons learned yet? Step it down a level until you get MODs to equal the NPC competition.

I have not been playing elite for a long time now. I decided to jump back in for this update as there seems to be a lot of good stuff being developed.

However I am a bit disappointed with the crazy AI.

These guys are CRAZY murders, just want to kill everything no matter if they have cargo or not. They have insane weapons and they spawn everywhere. It is really immersion breaking.

My experience has been so far, being almost killed by a vulture who wanted my cargo of        all. He spawns out of nowhere (immersion breaking), immediately interdicts me and almost kills me in 2 seconds flat. 2 seconds!!! What on earth was this vulture packing?

While he is busy annihilating me, he is demanding my cargo. I have no cargo, and even if I did.. what is a vulture going to be taking with him in his puny hold?

1) No spawning anywhere near us.
2) No hyper aggression.. surely somebody who can afford and pilot a spaceship doesn't go around just blindly shooting anybody. These guys shoot first and presumably collect our cargo later from our burnt wreckage? I don't get it.. surely they should scan us.. then weigh up the risks to rewards before attacking?
3) No unrealistic loadouts

I have to honest....

I can not for the life of me understand what everyone's crying about....

Since 2.1 dropped, I have:

-Continued to fly my a-rated DBS to:
1-Conduct 'experimental chemical recovery missions'. Even stacked two of these at once.
2-Put over 1.1million creds into the Bounty Hunting CG at Ngolibardu
3-Evaded interdiction from many different rated NPCs, in many various ships (nothing bigger than a clipper so far)
4-Been interdicted by and then either destroyed or escaped from a number of various rated NPCs in various ships (up to & including FAS/FDS/Clippers)
5-BHunted in RESs and taken down everything up to Anacondas.

-Flown my T7:
1-Contribute 1400t to the current trade CG
2-Scored two (2) kills along the way.

I have yet to be destroyed....

I am not an Elite rated pilot. I am not even rated Dangerous. My current rating is 75% Expert.

Tell me again how hard the AI is?

I'm flying in open seeing the same T6's,T7's,T9's - Anaconda's, hung out for a bit with a guy flying an Adder. Out of 20 or so fights in a T9 against Elite ranked ships, I have been destroyed once, entirely my fault for that hull loss.

Putting aside the bugs some have reported (Rapid fire plasma accelerators) The issue is people have had it easy in Solo, flying weak builds, not understanding the importance of pip & blue zone management. Cmdr's Fast tracking their way to ships through Robigo, sitting in RES for months on end believing that the combat rank increase actually meant something.

The AI combat was incredibly forgiving prior to 2.1, the only thing that needs to be fixed are the obvious bugs, fortunately I haven't seen any so far apart from rapid interdictions near the main star.

Well, I just tried mining for the first time in months to try and find some of this Praseodymium required for the level 2 FSD range mod and have found problem.

1. Started the game in solo.
2. Refitted my conda with a refinery, mining lasers and collector limpets
4. Flew about 50ly outside the bubble to find a nice quiet spot to mine.
5. Found a planet with rings and dropped down out of supercruise
6. Found a rock and started blasting it with a mining laser
7. Then a deadly Python pirate turns up the moment the laser hits the rock.
8. I quickly bug out and lost my shields while the FSD was spooling with 4 pips to shields (Some kind of thermal attack cut through them like butter, FYI I have class 7 Biweave shields + 4 class A shield boosters)
9. Travel a further 50 Ly and try again
10. Then again as soon as I the mining laser hits the rock two pirates show up, an Anaconda and Viper MKIV, and pretty much the same thing happens but I ended up with 59% hull remaining this time
11. Set a course to Maia for repairs (I havn't got there yet, quit the game after a couple of jumps)

I now have a burning question: Just how far away from civilisation do I have to go to mine without being harrassed by pirates?

(FYI All I had in my hold was a couple of exhaust manifolds that I scavenged from ship kills and some limpets)

They said in communications if they wanted your tasty cargo, or if they are some whacko asylum inhabitants who wanted to kill you just for fun. Or they said something else, tell us [yesnod]

I think it was the usual messages:
"Wow, the motherload. I don't know how you made it this far."

"I have travelled a long way to find you. Hand over your cargo or die"

Something like that anyway, I was too busy trying to clear the mass lock region and get the FSD spooled up.

The only way I can "step it down" as you so dismissively palm it off, is to STOP PLAYING ALL TOGETHER!
For the regular Jo's out there that just want a game to chill out, without being into combat (traders, miners, explorers...) it is ridiculous that you get blown away in seconds by an NPC. I dare not take my conda out of the hanger because it will cost too much to replace!
This game has got to the point that it really needs game levels... Stupid easy for the traders, miners, explorers et al, that don't want to live in fear that their nice new ship they have spent ages working towards being blown away in the time it takes me to sneeze! You can keep your crazy, hard level, game AI enhanced NPC's with infinite weapons for the testosterone junkies that like that sort of thing. Please DON'T impose it on me! You can dismise my comments as a Rant, but I'm a valid paying player too...
