We're in Q2 right ?

If the Krait turns out to be another primarily combat oriented ship then they can keep it as far as I'm concerned.

I'm only interested in non combat additions, we've had enough pew pew stuff added in the last couple updates imho.

Krait is definitely combat ship, judging by the looks and by lore.

Didn't they just say that the Krait was coming during Beyond?

Yep, there is no ETA for the Krait. It could with the last Q4 update for all we know.

And yes, it's most likely another combat ship, since the original was.

Q2 ends on June the 30th.

So you're saying the update releases at the end of Q2?

No, just telling you that Q2 ends on 30 Jun.

The release releases when the release releases.

We still haven't fixed all the Q1 bugs yet, and you're worried about adding the Q2 bugs to the heap?

And the Krait? Sure, I like to collect ships as much as anyone, maybe more than some, but I still haven't recovered from Engineering my first Chieftain, my second one is still sitting around with stock A/B modules, unflown, and I still have 52 ships full of legacy modules I haven't been able to touch due to materials shortages.

So take a deep breath, relax, and wait, just like the rest of us.

You won't like it.

I'm afraid you guys are right by the looks of it, SLF hangar and such, I still hope it'll be a bit more versatile then the Chieftain though, if not then I won't even bother.
I bought the Chieftain because of it's novelty but after flying around the block a couple times I never use it anymore.

I'm realy looking forward to the changes they want to make to exploration, maybe even a new exploration ship, but that will be in Q4 I believe so that's still a while away.
I getting tired of all that combat stuff being added, ED can be so much more then all that pew pew imho.

Combat is most actively played part of the game and it weaves into other parts of the game. So it is biggest benefit from dev hours FD can put into game.

People say they want non-combat things - issue is they are minority. Considerable one. Having combat thingies and pew pew pew sells game.

I'm waiting patiently as you can see, but I'll continue to wait until Q4 when they've fixed Crime & Punishment, the BGS system being more fluid and friendly with factions, balanced missions/payouts with risks on all professions of the game, and Squadrons being something for Player Factions. I've been playing more of the old Elite which has been challenging but fun at times. ;)

The thing is though that the PvE side of combat is good 'n all, but the PvP side is just ruined lol. Instancing can take hours just to organize a wing, and there's not many encouragement for particular counters (such as maybe Mass Lock Reduction modules or Engine Scramblers from EvE) if a player gets ganked. I definitely agree that there should be more ships or maybe modules/game improvements designed for Mining and Exploration.

Yup, the fact that Q2 started doesn't mean you get anything soon. FDEVs could drop large update exactly at 30th June and say: Q2 update, as promised. And they would be right.

Word of advice, when any dev says something will drop at Qx, expect it to be in the last week/days of that Q.

Yes, why would FD be any different to most businesses? If someone tells me to expect something in Q1, 2 or 3 I tend to expect it by the end of rather than in the first week unless they've been specific....or you as a client have demanded it by a certain date:)

Since Drop .4 is exploration focused and the ship has an Asp bubble canopy

I reckon it'll have a nice jump range, all the sensors built in as standard and be an awesome exploratory ship (the SLF is for canyon racing).
The silhouette doesn't come across as a combat ship but also the snake it's named after...

<stolen from Wikipedia>
When agitated, it will coil up with its head concealed and body flattened, and makes jerky movements. It may also lift its tail. It is reluctant to bite, but when it does, it typically holds on for a while, which enables it to inject considerable amounts of venom. It may become aggressive at night if threatened.

It is worth to remember that June is usually vacation month at FD. So I would make a guess it won't most likely come out at very last day of Q2.

Dinosaurs might get in the way of Q2 release...

Doubt it. Separate teams, and they'll have been well aware of the development / release schedule for JW long before they announced the Beyond timetable. Nothing happens in a vacuum.

To be fair to Frontier, they do tend to hit their release targets. Whether they should or not is a different matter (some might say they need more development time / polish) but they do.

My guess for the next update will be mid-to-late May / early June. They will want to keep the smaller updates coming on time to give them maximum options for the big Q4 release.

I agree with you but if they gave other playstyles a bit more attention then there would definitely be an increase in players who do like those other elements like exploring, mining, etc.
We're still a minority but we could become a bit more then that.
400 billion stars and 99.9% is focused around a small bubble of inhabited systems, so much potential not being used.
Why even make such a huge galaxy if you're not gonna do something with it.

According to the latest stats 0.028% of the galaxy is visited, this could've been much more imho if they would've made it a bit more interesting to actually go out there.
I'm 32k ly outside the bubble right now but I'd love to have the tools to find interesting things, things that aren't even there right now like investigating comets or primitive life forms, etc.
There are some finds out there but not much and having to rely on my eyeball mk1 only goes so far regarding engaging gameplay.

They are based in England, not Europe. The Brits don't have a "vacation month". Younger staff without school-age kids will likely take a break outside of the school holiday period of late July to early September, that is all.
