What a surprise. The next step in the mystery is a community goal.

Oh boy, shyte is gonna hit the fan again on reddit and here. Brace yourselves.

Worst live stream FDEV have ever done. Even worse than the early days when Ed didn't know what he was doing, at least then you could forgive him because he was new.

This is unforgivable.

Something exciting, that nobody has done before.....

A Community Goal!

Yeah that's new, really new.

FDev fail again.

They could have Earth be attacked directly right now and I wouldn't care because I am too burnt out by all this backburner hype stall tactics. So now I guess I should go deliver this data that I am probably going to need for engineering later? Because Fdev is just ambitious and foolish enough to do something like alien engineering. So no thanks I will be holding on to all this rare data in case Fdev decides to make us start farming Thargoids for the new PVP meta.

And they even sent us email to advertise todays live stream.

And one more to tell about this CG. My hopes weren't high but they totally failed. This doesn't seem promising for 2.4 and the future.

-_-

Just take what data you have in there, if any. Being angry and doing nothing isn't helping, whether you like how it's being handled or not. I think it's cool that they're actually letting us do SOMETHING to help accomplish the reveal.

Humanity...we have to complain about something. Can't even be good sports about a genuinely inventive method for a reveal by Frontier, compared to past events.

I don't HAVE any data to hand in because of FDev's rubbish RNG system. There is NO way to guarantee a hyperdiction.

Commanders have jumped thousands of times across Pleiades without incident.

Commanders literally waited 8 hours at one of the barnacles without incident.

They are basing an entire CG (which let's face it, are boring af as it is and pretty much the laziest way to introduce 'content) on RNG! They are excluding a hell of a lot of Commanders.

So they decide to give players a chance at doing story related stuff and people complain.

It's like people don't understand they are never going to get a single player story game mode ala Minecraft story mode. They probably upped the chance of alien encounters and are giving players a chance to experience the event before the story progresses.

Yeeeep.

Blimey what were they thinking a CG with RNG...... Lets just go the whole hog and RNG whether or not we actually get to fly in the ships we own. On the roll of a dice - 1, 2 or 3 you fly your ship, on a 4, 5, 6 your ship explodes.

Jesus, it's not enough that Ed has to deal with the cancerous comments in the live stream, hopefully he steers far away from the forums. You guys are a collective joke if complaining to complain actually helps you get through your day (or night), though I suspect a lot of people were watching the stream well past their bed times.

Yea avoid the forums. Ignore the comments. God forbid he gets some honest to god feedback. No No let's just coddle them and tell them what a great job they are doing. And whisper sweet lies into their ears.

The beatings will continue until morale improves...

It's possible the chances are higher for this event. It's possible that's not the case. But hell, how many Commanders were included in any previous reveals? I'll bet less than one.

They have so little to show us at E3 that they have to make people do a Community Goal during the first live stream to get a tiny little teaser on Tuesday...

There is no other way to describe this than a fail. People have been whining and complaining for months now about the shallowness, repetitiveness, grindy, RNG nature of the game. What do they give us at their E3 livestream event ? EVERY. SINGLE. THING. people have been complaining about ! It's unbelievable ? do they want to lose all their players ?? Because that's how you lose all your players.

Well, FD could have just posted the instructions for the CG in the forums, or with a message in game (the way it should!), instead of ambiguously suggesting that something will be announced in the livetreams. But they let us believe that this was going to be a special event (it is not, just another CG), and that we will get news (we didn't). They hyped everyone, and this is what happens when you let the hype fall. They could have made it clear since the beginning; that the announcement will be tomorrow. And even if they had, I still don't see why making a livestream for the CG was a better idea than just a normal in-game or forum announcement. Some people watched for 50 minutes some random guys play, along with amateur streamer problems, waiting for something to happen. This is a misuse of the term E3, and we fell for it.

Honestly, I don't think anyone was expecting massive story. Not sure what anyone was expecting perhaps... But not a "Go to this system and scan stuff" CG was probably not high up on people's expectations. I'll wait patiently for tomorrow and see where it goes from there. I guess I felt the livestream was a bit like the "mile wide, inch deep" feeling that ED sometimes gets accused of.

Fly safe o7

You could even make the argument that, insanely dull though it was, if the audio balance was such we could all hear the beacon and maybe do something about it, then it wouldn't have been quite so awful.

But we sat there, watching someone on headphones listen to something we couldn't hear so that his friends in ship with decals and skins we can't purchase went somewhere we couldn't transcribe. Yay.

Yeah I have to admit, for all the fap about it, emails etc it was pretty disappointing.

Wait... people expected to hear what was coming in 2.4 in tonight's Livestream? Really?

Frontier were never going to reveal something about 2.4 before E3. The best way to make an impact about an upcoming update is to reveal the news for the first time at a big event like E3.

Personally, I thought tonight's stream was a fun idea, to get people involved in the reveal if they want to through an existing game mechanic. But maybe I'm biased as I already had wake scans from being hyperdicted earlier this year so I was able to contribute immediately. The reward is not the money one gets from the CG, the reward is Palin's research and what it can do for us... in 2.4 probably.

Oh well...
