What Animals Do You Need to build Your Perfect Zoo?

I mean, you could get it on sale. I still use my CDs (Star Trek Armada II, anyone?).
But I wouldn't necessarily say that digital games are more expensive. CDs can be just as expensive as digital, unless you find a used copy
The digital games are cheaper than the CDs, and in PC is too low the price comparted to other platforms, I got the game in steam for only 7 dollars in a sale!!!

I got PZ and the 1st 4 DLC (Deluxe, Arctic, South America, Australia) on sale. I think I got all of them for the same price as the base game when it's not on sale.

Since then, I've paid for each DLC on release day

There are four animals that I think are sorely lacking for each of my zoo projects - the Patagonian Mara, the Takin, the Collared Peccary and the Blackbuck. I didn't even include my favorite, the tree kangaroo, in that list because I want it more as an animal than I think of it as an essential zoo animal, but those four are animals that I find myself wanting in the game for pretty much every single project, and have even built several implied habitats for so far.

Oh, and South American monkeys. But I don't need a specific single species as much as I just need a varied selection in general.

My dream zoo is a recreation of the Calgary Zoo 2013 Master Plan.

Species still lacking to recreate it are as follows. I've put a star beside the ones I want the most

Rockhopper penguins *
Gentoo penguins
Humbolt penguins

Musk ox *
Harbour seal
Wapiti
Big horned sheep
Rockey mountain goat
American black bear *
Whooping crane
Tundra swan *
North American porcupine *
North American river otter

Pygmy goat *
African pygmy goose *
Grey crowned crane *
Helmeted guineafowl *
Mantled guereza/ black and white colobus *
African dwarf crocodile
Rock hyrax *
Spurred tortoise

Squirrel monkey *
Spider monkey
Rhea
Alpaca
Chilean flamingo
White faced whistling duck *

Eurasian wild hog *
Pallas cat *
Japanese serrow
Siberian musk deer
Saiga *

Hmm having trouble figuring out what animals I need considering the zoos I have made
I have 1 NA, 1 SA, 1 African zoo (all biomes except tropical), 1tropical African, 1 EU, 1 Indian, 1 Asia and 1 Australia.
Those zoos have the theme and animals found in those corresponding animals while the Indian zoo has SEA animals and the Asian zoo has Himalayas, Sea and other areas minus India.
I have one new world zoo with all animals from SA and NA. One zoo with old world animals that are personal picks for me.
Then 1 canine, 1 feline, 1 bear, 1 primate, 1 reptile zoos.
I don’t know why I don’t try other random zoos
There are plenty of animals I still want but don’t feel they complete a specific zoo.
For my SA zoo, I still have an empty section that I made in the hopes of getting an Andean bear for my highland section.
My NA zoo has plenty of empty habitats for animals I desire that I’m not convinced would make any zoo feel more complete.

Tbh I don’t see much of a problem

Just look at the Mandalorian or Ahsoka
Well,.Mandalorians ending felt rushed to me. And I haven't even started Ahsoka (the whole point of another galaxy ruins it for me. What's the whole point of "a galaxy far, far away" now?). I dunno, I still like Stargate the best...

I just remembered a few other animals I'd actually want:
  • Gelada
  • Hamadryas baboon
  • Olive baboon
  • Colobus monkey
  • Lion-tailed macaque
  • Grey langur
  • Vervet monkey
  • Coquerel's sifaka
Basically , a bunch of Old World primates. I would love some more Old World primates

Some missing animal ideas
NA: a ground bird,
SA: Andean bear, their only bear
EU: wild Boar, as much as I don’t like them, it would be a correct fit. A ground bird such as the capercaillie.
AF: not sure
India: blackbuck, snake
Asia: here’s the thing, Asia lacks a lot of exhibit types so a spider, lizard, snake, frogs could be included.
Australia: could use a spider. I think the Perentie could find its way into the game as it seems Australia is now pretty well covered.

What if I won't be comfortable with the complete edition (all deluxe and dlc packs included like Jurassic World Evolution (Frontier game?)) if that'll happen after all packs released and no longer new ones?

Oh, I get it now.
Well, I don't know about you, but in my case it makes each DLC even more exciting. Like, I can't wait what's gonna come next, whether I like it or not, because altogether it makes for a fun experience

Yeah. First, I want to see if that game will have the rest of Big Five of Africa and then one Australian monitor lizard before complete edition whether that'll be accepted or not.

I was born and raised in New England and my dream zoo is US/Canadian.

CANIDS
To join the timber wolf and red fox, I'd like the coyote, the gray fox, and the kit fox.

FELIDS
To join the cougar, I'd like the bobcat.

URSIDS
To join the grizzly bear, I'd like the American black bear.

MUSTELIDS
PZ has no North American mustelids yet, so I'm going to be greedy and ask for the wolverine, the river otter, the American badger, and the American mink.

PROCYONIDS
To join the raccoon, I'd like the white-nosed coati and the ringtail.

MEPHITIDS
To join the striped skunk, I'd like the spotted skunk.

RODENTS
To join the beaver and black-tailed prairie dog, I'd like the NA porcupine, the groundhog/woodchuck, and the hoary marmot.

CERVIDS
To join the moose and caribou/reindeer, I'd like the white-tailed deer, the mule deer, and the wapiti/elk.

BOVIDS
To join the American bison and dall sheep, I'd like the bighorn sheep and the Rocky Mountain goat.

SUIDS
I know it's not a true pig, but it's close enough, so I'd like the collared peccary.

REPTILES
To join the American alligator, I'd like the desert tortoise and the alligator snapping turtle.

Now for the habitat birds (who we're pretending don't know how to fly away). 😄

GAMEBIRDS
Ruffed grouse
Spruce grouse
Greater prairie chicken
Ring-necked pheasant
NA wild turkey
Ocellated turkey

WATERFOWL
Hawaiian nene goose
Trumpeter swan
Common loon
Horned grebe
Wood duck
Black-bellied whistling duck
Hooded merganser

WADING BIRDS
American flamingo
Roseate spoonbill
Wood stork
Sandhill crane
Whooping crane
Great blue heron

So many but I keep going to a concept of representing the world in a zoo. So overall more new world primates, SA animals, lots of birds, some more Florida specific wildlife like ABB, deer, manatee, sand hill crane, a lot more marine creatures including cetaceans and marine megafauna. But not many probably just a beluga, walrus, sea turtle, manta ray, dolphin, whale sharks, hammerheads, walrus, sea turtles. Marine iguanas are cool. (Have a huge coastal/ marine bias, my Florida boy is coming out) for more terrestrial stuff, Saigas have always been one of my favorites, fanged deers are cool. And I need to see honey badgers and wolverines in this game.

My perfect zoo at least for the time being wouod be the one im currently working on based in the German Alps. I love kinda planned out a map for it and now the only animal I need that are missing are:

A tree kangaroo
Spectacled bear
Alpaca (but Llama can suffice)
Takin
And a baboon
