I was born and raised in New England and my dream zoo is US/Canadian.
CANIDS
To join the timber wolf and red fox, I'd like the
coyote, the
gray fox, and the
kit fox.
FELIDS
To join the cougar, I'd like the
bobcat.
URSIDS
To join the grizzly bear, I'd like the
American black bear.
MUSTELIDS
PZ has no North American mustelids yet, so I'm going to be greedy and ask for the
wolverine, the
river otter, the
American badger, and the
American mink.
PROCYONIDS
To join the raccoon, I'd like the
white-nosed coati and the
ringtail.
MEPHITIDS
To join the striped skunk, I'd like the
spotted skunk.
RODENTS
To join the beaver and black-tailed prairie dog, I'd like the
NA porcupine, the
groundhog/woodchuck, and the
hoary marmot.
CERVIDS
To join the moose and caribou/reindeer, I'd like the
white-tailed deer, the
mule deer, and the
wapiti/elk.
BOVIDS
To join the American bison and dall sheep, I'd like the
bighorn sheep and the
Rocky Mountain goat.
SUIDS
I know it's not a true pig, but it's close enough, so I'd like the
collared peccary.
REPTILES
To join the American alligator, I'd like the
desert tortoise and the
alligator snapping turtle.
Now for the habitat birds (who we're pretending don't know how to fly away).
