What animals from the game are common in Australia and New Zeland zoo?

I always build my zoos around Mexico and its zoo culture, and although I don't usually build realistically in terms of the animals available, I would like to have as a base which animals I can use to fit better with the region of Oceania better, also taking advantage of the new tempered map I would like to make an Oceania themed zoo, any information about what animals we have in the game I can use would be very helpful

It doesn't matter if they are from Australian or New Zealand zoos, any region of the Oceania regarding zoos helps!!

This should help you a bit. It is a list of exotic mammals kept in Australian zoos, it even list how many zoos in Australia keep them:

Keep in mind that the list is from 2015, so it could not be up to date, but considering Australian laws on imports of animals, probably not much changed.

Keep in mind that Australia gets pretty hot so we tend to go towards animals that don't require lots of cooling to handle the heat. Even our cooler areas still tend to be about 35 degrees in summer. When you're picking animals to go in, if you're going for realism, keep that In mind. If you do want to go for a cooler climate animal, plan out a suitable indoor area ect

That is super helpful, I was actually thinking about creating a NZ zoo next, so I will use this list for sure. Thanks for putting this up together.

If for me it is also the same if I want to build a realistic zoo in Mexico, only about 60 species of the game exist in Mexico and like Australia and NZ there are many import and export rules, so many animals can not go into the country, In fact, very famous animals such as Indian rhinos, just this week arrived at the first time zoo in Mexico and Latin America in general (except Brazil) so yeah, I share your feelings when you receive animals that are from your region !!!!

Keep in mind that Australia gets pretty hot so we tend to go towards animals that don't require lots of cooling to handle the heat. Even our cooler areas still tend to be about 35 degrees in summer. Seaworld at the Gold Coast does have Polar Bears, albeit it's probably not ethical.

In Adelaide Zoo, there's about 1000 species from around the world, mostly small birds. In contrast, Monarto is a lower diversity open plains zoo, focusing on mostly African species. Australia doesn't have any Flamingoes anymore, Adelaide broke the rules by only keeping 2 (a Greater and Chilean), when the ethical minimum was set to 20. New Zealand has Flamingoes though.

The in-game animals I recall for Adelaide & Monarto (probably out of date in places, definitely 2016ish, very fuzzy on exhibit animals)
African Lion (uncertain subspecies) - Adelaide & Monarto
Plains Zebra - Monarto
Hippopotamus - Adelaide (last one died a few years ago, exhibit was at the entrance)
Ring Tailed Lemur - Adelaide
Tapir (Brazilian) - Adelaide
Giraffe (uncertain subspecies) - Adelaide & Monarto
Chimpanzee (uncertain species) - Monarto
Pygmy Hippo - Adelaide (singular individual)
Komodo Dragon - Adelaide (New acquisition since I was there, one individual)
African Wild Dog - Monarto (main exhibit gets swapped regularly with Spotted Hyena for bus tour)
Cheetah - Monarto
Tiger (Sumatran) - Adelaide
Spotted Hyena - Monarto (main exhibit gets swapped regularly with African Wild Dog for bus tour)
Orangutan (uncertain subspecies) - Adelaide
Ostrich (uncertain subspecies) - Monarto
Aldabra Giant Tortoise - Adelaide
Indian Elephant - planned for Monarto
Mandrill - Adelaide
Red Panda - Adelaide (one briefly escaped last year)
Bongo - Monarto
Giant Panda - Adelaide (two in long, seperate exhibits)
Nyala - Monarto
Eastern Brown Snake - Adelaide
Death Adder - Adelaide
American Bison - Monarto
Llama - Adelaide (Petting zoo section)
Red Kangaroo - Adelaide
Dingo - Adelaide (two individuals)
Southern Cassowary - Adelaide
Koala - Adelaide
Sun Bear - Adelaide (only one in their 30s)
Malayan Tapir - Adelaide
Binturong - Adelaide (died several years ago, looks like it got a replacement)
Meerkat - Adelaide & Monarto (two exhibits of them in Adelaide, one in front of Giraffes, including a white one)
Southern White Rhino - Monarto
American Alligator - Adelaide
Sea Lion (Australian) - Adelaide
Capybara - Adelaide
Asian Small-Clawed Otter - Adelaide
Przewalski's Horse - Monarto
Siamang - Adelaide (Same exhibit as Gibbon, but different island)
Scimitar-Horned Oryx - Monarto
Wombat (Southern Hairy-nosed) - Adelaide
Deer (Sika) - Adelaide (Petting Zoo section)
Maned Wolf - Adelaide
Emu - Adelaide & Wild at Monarto
Wallaby (Tammar) - Adelaide
Gibbon (White-cheeked) - Adelaide (same exhibit as Siamang, but different island)
Three toed sloth (uncertain species) - Adelaide (Nocturnal section, only non-Australian in there, single individual)
Black Rhino - Monarto
Porcupine (Cape) - Monarto (when I went, it wasn't visible)
Tasmanian Devil - Adelaide & Monarto
Little Penguin - Adelaide
Quokka - Adelaide (Petting Zoo section, majority of them died last year mysteriously, along with two Rock wallabies)

Some prominent species without close in-game approximations: Yellow-footed Rock Wallaby, Patagonian Mara, Serval, South American Coati, Hamadryas baboon, Golden Lion Tamarins (they have a square cage tube that goes outside of their house and over walkways), Dusky leaf monkey (shares an exhibit with Malayan Tapirs, living in a fig tree that goes over the walkway), Short beaked echidna (lives in a walkthrough, bird focused exhibit), Goodfellow's Tree Kangaroo (a Yellow-footed Rock Wallaby hosted a joey once), Blackbuck (Monarto), Domestic Goats (Petting Zoo), Pelicans & Cape Barren goose (they're rescues, missing parts of their wings).

Great list! Here’s just a few updates from someone who’s visited the zoos more recently:
  • In regards to species in the game but missed on this list, Monarto has addax and red deer while Adelaide has fennec foxes and Gila monsters
  • Adelaide has two komodo dragons now, young female Cecilia and the older male Naga
  • The orangutans are Sumatran
  • Monarto no longer has bongos (at least not on display), has ring-tailed lemurs and Aldabra tortoises now
  • Adelaide Zoo’s sun bear and Hoffmann’s two toed sloth (not three-toed) passed away several years ago now
  • Cecil the emu is no longer at Adelaide Zoo, given his old habitat is currently home to the dingo siblings. He’s having a nice retirement at a wildlife sanctuary on the Fleurieu peninsula
  • The tammar wallabies are also not on display anymore for the same reason but I think they’re still kept backstage for breeding
  • From what I can recall the eastern brown and death adder are also no longer in the reptile house but you can still see them locally at Cleland
  • In the petting zoo, the deer are actually European fallow deer and the camelids are alpacas
  • Adelaide Zoo’s website quotes its species total as around 250

Heres the zoo lex entry that goes in depth on the polar bear habitat on the Gold coast, I've been there a couple of times, albeit at least a good 10 years ago now.
