What are the targets on the maps?

usually on crates or flaming urns for example and how do I utilise them in Chaosgate Daemonhunters?

You shoot them and they have different effects. There's another one that looks like a sword, you use melee on those.

Those are environmental targets you can use to your advantage. Icons with a target can be shot at range to explode, topple onto enemies and so on. Icons with a sword are items that can be physically used to crush your enemies, such as pushing a column onto lots of Poxwalkers or throwing a large metal lid into a cultists face.

I did not use the environmental's early on, but as i started to i am always on the watch for them now. nothing like shooting a statue at range and having it topple on a group of enemies.
