Stumbled across this ship and scanned it. It then said sub-targets are now shown for further scans. I scanned a hatch or two and a hackable comms thing - but nothing happened. I then attemped to scan the "power capacitor" as shown below but the sacanner didn't er... scan. Well in range. Same story on all powerf capacitors so I take it scanning these isn't possible. I'm not sure what else is supposed to happen in these instances.

Need hatch-breaker limpets or recon limpets to proceed.
May be illegal depending on situation.

Note: I've not used recon limpets.
I use the hatch-breaker on damaged ships to release cargo/escape pods.

For the record, if you select it in the left-hand panel you can scan it. When it then says 'targets available' you can go to that tab in the left-panel and select one of the targets. Data panels will require recon limpets, cargo bays require hatch brakers. But you first need to select the specific target on that thing in the target tab of the left hand panel.
