What do the supplements add to food and drinks?

Given that there are no tooltips for the supplements we can add to the food and drinks for our guest, I keep wondering what they actually do.
I'm assuming ice in drinks helps with cooling guests down, but without ingame tooltips I'm just not sure of this. I also have no clue as to how to help guests with cold temperatures; besides (again just an assumption) giving them coffee. Some kind of tooltip would thus be really helpful to explain what different foodtypes and supplements actually do.

I think I've asked the same Question once and someone posted a Chart where it was shown what each of them does.
I'll try to find it again.

Regarding the cold Temperatures, you could put Heaters near the Paths (even though I don't like this Solution that much) but I don't know at which Temperature Guests stop complaining. I don't know if it might also help to create more heated Buildings

Edit: here it is https://forums.frontier.co.uk/threa...des-satisfy-guests-longer.535750/post-8274865

Thanks for the chart, that is definitely helpful. I still whish we had tooltips for this though :/

I know I can use the heaters and coolers for the guests, but I don't like using these in outside areas. I just assume people like extra ice and ice-cream to cool down and coffee to warm up, but it would be cool to see in game if this is actually true or not.

I do think it's true, but I'm unsure if I read this somewhere or not. But I always try to follow that assumption. I also think they might be a bit happier with those supplements, given that the food and drink is very expensive :D

In the Arctic biome, you definitely cannot have too many coffee shops. And in hot areas, water might be a bit more attractive, but this is just a guess. I usually only use water and beef (hamburgers) without any complaints from the guests. If you use different types and the lines are too long, guests might have to leave the food court if there is not a second shop with the same beverage or food they currenly crave and wander around unhappy for too long before they find an accessible shop.

In the Tundra and Arctic biomes, I replace water with coffee.

ETA: This is obviously more relevant in Franchise mode.

My point is we are al just guessing and assuming, there is no way to tell if this indeed has an effect in game because their are no tooltips that tell us if it does.

I've experimented in my first Zoo when I made that other Thread and I can confirm that they do have a Effect. I just wish really we would have Tooltips for it in the Game. It's annoying to always need to look it up online

So I went and did a little digging in the files to be sure and some stuff does have a minimal effect on guest happiness/preference depending on the temp, as you can see in the list I attached (I hope it's okay I added that since I got it from the game files if not please remove it, I just thought it might be useful for poeple to have this info and it doesn't give anything else away). Those on the list are also the only food/drink types that have any influence whatsoever on guest preference depending on the temp, for all the others it doesn't seem to matter one way or the other.

Also a fun fact that isn't related to the temperature in our Zoos: as soon as you add ice to any drink it always has a negative effect on guest happiness no matter what. Every other extra has a positive effect, though, so if you want happier guests better stick to those and don't add ice.

Wait, they don't like Ice in their Drinks at all? Better boil their Drinks then during Summer 😈

Doesn't it say 0.1 for high temperature zoos though? Like, it makes sense that anything cold would have -0.1 in a cold temperature zoo and that it gets 0.1 for high temperatures?

Well, the extra ice has a -0.025 (iirc) listed for guest satisfaction in the extras table, while the drink ice has the 0.1 for high temps listed in this one, so I'm not sure if it's actually the same or if the drink is one of the items a shop offers. But yeah, generally the extra ice is listed with a negative effect on guests.
