What do you do when another player turns up in your home system?

Exactly how I feel.

Have a run of 6 systems with my well equipped home in the middle, allied with all of them.

Then I feel bad for thinking about just blowing them away, plus it would probably damage my rep. And they just spent all of yesterday grinding the same seeking luxuries route.

One change that I think would be beneficial here (and reward loyalty to your home system) would be allowing you to shoot unwanted players that are hostile to the system/faction. Seeking Luxuries comes with a significant draw back. The system see this as smuggling and it has a massive negative effect on rep. I earned about a 1 million running performance enhancers to a seeking luxuries in a Federation system. I went to hostile with a downward arrow. I now can't land at Federation starports or platforms, as every security vessel attacks me. I don't have a wanted status in the system, so if the authority vessels can shoot me, why not players allied to the faction?

This would mean that you could gun down people that intrude on your turf if they behave badly.

For every player you see in your 'home' there are probably at least another 10 you can't see, all going about their business

Old habits die hard I guess. If you are not blue kill on sight. Also while you are typing you are not trying to interdict me or shoot me, unless you have three hands or can type with your nose.

Hmm - not for me - especially not in non-anarchy systems. In general, I think as long as they mind their own business, it's quite safe to assume they work (be it trading or missioning) for the same faction I do in "my" home, I want it to prosper, so the more the merrier.

Until now, I just said hello or hailed the other cmdr friendly ... most cmdrs don't talk that much 
Probably because they cant figure out how to talk or they didnt see your message, if I am busy I dont notice them and I often forget more important keys than the comms ones. Maybe the comms be made easier to use?

As I don't really have a home system (intent on travelling from conflict zone to conflict zone) I have a slightly different situation to deal with.

i challenge their allegiance and if not imperial, I interdict and attack with intent to destroy, regardless of where they are (super cruise, docking, mining etc.)
