What do you do while playing Elite?

I get caught up on Facebook, read news feeds & Reddit, shop on Amazon, and chat with friends on Trillian -- all on my laptop which sits next to my main PC which plays Elite. All that while waiting for SuperCruise to finally get to Yaping Enterprise.

What would you LIKE to be doing while SuperCruising?

what would i LIKE to do? get commodity prices and be able to set up a run without having to dock at the local station first.

What do I do? Listen to podcasts or audiobooks mostly if friends aren't online, or chat with them on Vent if they are.

What would I LIKE to do? Well, in-game it would be nice to be able to sift through loads of data from past trades and exploration, etc. You know, like in a LOG BOOK (hint, hint FD.)

While in cruise? Depends - write travel log, read this forum, listen to music, drink tea, ... shoot a "pirate" now and then ..

Look for horrible ideas on the forums and argue about them, and then post my own horrible ideas and watch them get ignored.

Stand-up specials on Netflix work really well since you don't have to watch closely to follow along.

What I'd like to be doing is fixing my FSD so that I can jump from one star to another inside the system.

I listen to podcasts. What I'd *like* to be doing is reading the Galnet newsfeed items, looking at a list of the most recent player fights in the system I'm currently traveling through (or adjacent systems if there have been none locally), checking the ship from different camera POVs to make sure everything's cool (including a cargo hold view), arranging the various toys and memorabilia I've placed on my dash... that kind of thing.

Umm, I play Elite while playing Elite I don't really do anything else while playing. But then, I don't really do the whole trading thing except to occasionally dabble in rares whose main purpose is to get me into Fed/Alliance space so I can drop off bounties I KWSed.

In long supercruise i enjoy the stars or the starmap, while waiting for rares to respawn i read the forum.

I think the fact that a vast portion of the playerbase resorts to multitasking and not playing while waiting for supercruise to end should be looked into.

Add me to the list of the waiting players. I want to be able to browse though a few pages of varied missions for ones I may like to take. I want to be able to find multiple missions going to the same system (even if it is to a different dock) like in FF2. I want to earn descent credits without having to resort to mind numbing trading routes. I want to see the npc's that offer me missions and I happen to meet in space.

In short I want to feel as if I am a part of the universe and not another guy sitting behind a desk.

Go put the kettle on since I can see the screen from the kitchen. Usually I'll have time to make a cuppa too. It would be nice to read Galnet when not in a station. I haven't been in a station for a couple of weeks and I play every day. I've no idea what's happening politically in the bubble since reading about it outside the game seems less immersive?
