I don't know where else to post this. I am having a problem with EDMC not being able to write a file to my document folder. I would like to let the code writer know this but have searched the web and haven't had any luck. This started with the update I got the other day.
Before the update I noticed that EDMC was writing text files to my document folder.
BTW, I am getting a notice from windows firewall that it is blocking the file created by EDMC.
Any help in resolving this issue is appreciated.

I would guess that your firewall isn't recognising the update as the same program it allowed through previously.

Try this:
Open the “Control Panel“.
Select “System and Security“.
In the Windows Firewall section, select “Allow a program through Windows Firewall“.
Unchecking the box to the left of the application name disallows it from accessing network resources, while checking it allows access.

Good idea it just didn't work.
