What does everyone do in the quiet moments?

I stream so downtime even while exploring is rare keeping up with chat or the small group of streamers in teamspeak talking current events, politics, games, and what not.

During this process, I had a lengthy chat with a (supposed) crewmember about some affections I was sharing with another woman on-board (her sister). She informed me that she wished to be included.

Believe me. I may be "content" with how exploration currently works, but I certainly don't mind if they make it more involving with stuff like this, lol.

That'd be pretty cool - at least the first 12 times... Not sure this will ever be the kind of game where your spoiler happens though... ;)

Yesterday I watched half of the new Game of Thrones episode while fly 400k Ls to meet up with a tiny black hole orbiting a B-class star at 40Ls.
.
I kinda felt bad for the star.

If a game, designed to entertain, is giving people enough down time to consume entire audio books and read novels while they wait for something to happen... something is terribly wrong.

I strive not to have "quiet moments" if the body is so far I could read a book during the trip, I dont go.

I'm a sucker for potential Earth-like, even if it's 500k Ls away (or more).

Seems to be precious few in the part of the galaxy I am in, though...

I also have string with a fluffy thing on the end so I can play with the cats. Laser pointer would be fun, except only one of the two cats goes for it.

Z...

Check on the meters, wiggle my toes, do occasional hand stretching, and watch intensively those distance numbers going down.

One thing I do if I'm flying between stars in the same system is check what the ETA is when I've covered 25% of the distance. That's an accurate enough prediction that I know how long I've got to make a cup of coffee or whatever. (I may be in the minority here but I really like the fact that there are journeys that will take time. And they are optional - I don't have to go the 380,000 LS to check out the B-system if I don't feel like it... I would be very sorry to lose this sense of the sheer spaciousness of space.)

I dont know, I used to go full nerd in Silent hunter III and travel the english channel in realtime with the volume turned up, when I heard the bell ring I had to leg it upstairs to the 'deck'.

You tube was invented for the 500KLs trips. Pick a band, select best of and away you go, or select a genre. Need a comedy moment...you tube.
My name is Whiterose and I have been paid for this advertisment.

That seems to be appropriate, DS9 is good too...

Nice to see someone appreciate a good show like DS9. Sisko is one of my fav captains in the trek 'verse.

To pass the time on long journeys....I shake a stick at my domineering bengal cat.

I imagine there is a cantina in the universe where the pilots of the universe get together to have the exact same conversations and debates. Some who won't fly out to the very far items on their scanners. Some who will. Some who trade holovids and books to keep them busy during their downtimes. And some who are sitting in near orbit hoping to grief the explorers when they head out on their next mission.
