What does it take to flip a system to a different controlling faction?

One of the high intensity CZs near the main star in LTT 17422 allows you to fight for Labour of Seleru Bao. I did one round out there and then headed to one of the outposts in Seleru Bao to turn in the bonds. That's it for me tonight, but I should be able to get many more bonds tomorrow. :)

I did a round in my Corvette last night in one of the low intensity CZs near Low station, and turned in about 200K worth of bonds at one of the outposts. If it's the turn-ins that count, and not the gross number of bonds or credits, I may switch to my Courier, since that's the only combat ship I have that can dock at an outpost, and the switching seems like it would waste a lot of time.

I also had a little talk with the other commander I see regularly in Seleru Bao, and he said he didn't have a whole lot of time to spare to help directly, but did agree to concentrate on Labor's missions when he's around, and not work against us. He also suggested that turning in exploration data might be the most effective way of boosting Labor's influence, but said that you have to turn in 10M credits' worth at a time for it to be useful. I think I'd rather run missions than do 10M credits' worth of exploring every day. That seems like a good way to see whole lot of not very much.

lol, those were my exact thoughts, which is why my Courier is now waiting for me at Leistner Ring. The Cutter just seemed overkill for taking out one ship at a time.

Going up against a player group will always be hard as they are not just randoms doing stuff in your system but organised.... also they could be reading the forums right now as well!

This player faction is listed @ Inara. They say it comprises two people. But yes, they may read this thread, too. But the biggest increase of influence was gained by an independent anarchy faction - from below 2 to almost 6% in the last days.

Their Discord is a lot bigger https://discord.gg/GfVWYgZ
I count 12?

The war in LTT 17422 is over, but the influence in Seleru Bao itself has decreased further to 2.4%. This will be a toughie...

Yes, I noticed that. I picked up my courier and headed over to the CZ, to find that it wasn't there. :) Should have checked the faction state before I left...

I've run a few missions tonight, and am using the outposts when I need to sell stuff, so hopefully that will help. I notice that there are lots of refugee passenger missions from one of the outposts, so I will kit out a few cabins for them.

I ended up working late yesterday, so I only got to play for an hour or so before I had to go to bed, but I did a couple of missions from one of the outposts. In one of them, the informant I had to go meet dropped to sublight inside the green line of the star.

I forgot about passenger missions; I'll have to start doing those.

Does the influence meter change in real time? Like, if I did 100 missions, should I be able to see it change, or does that happen on a daily digest basis?

Edit: Just noticed the sticky. Daily digest, apparently.

If there is no one working against you you will achieve all you are going to with about 10 courier missions.... there is no player cap, but there is a system one (as far as we can tell)

Influence today is up to 15%. :) I've got around ten or fifteen missions to complete today, so we'll see how much that helps. I presume it updates daily? Or is it more often?

According to the sticky in the BGS forum, it updates daily at about 12:15 galactic time, and sometimes the update takes 15 minutes or so to fully complete.

Also, I found this:

It looks like the Interstellar Line folks are theoretically based out of Witchhaul (at Hornby, I guess?), which is nearby. It also says they're mostly Japanese, which might explain why I don't encounter them, being from Texas myself, twelve time zones away.

Hey TheChafing, as a leader of a player group myself, I have peace treaties will all the local other groups and treaties on territory (who owns what, mostly first in has the rights to control)
Have you thought about contacting them?
As we have been in our home system for over 2 years now, https://inara.cz/wing-documents/793/131/ you might be in for a very long and drawn out battle. I would be guessing that we have crushed more than a few attempts to over throw us. We actually welcome it as it makes the galaxy living and we love a good war.
Anyway, those are my 2 cents:
1. contact them and make a treaty.
or
2. strap in for a conflict that will never end.

Good times!

It isn't the home system of Interstellar Line that we are trying to gain. We're trying to restore a home faction in its own system. :)

I had some missions out to Witchhaul earlier. I'll be avoiding them in future, though, as it is a very long journey out. That is the only system where I encountered another commander tonight, but only very briefly.

I probably should have warned you that most of the Witchhaul system is 166KLS out. Hornby is the only station that's reasonably close to the jump-in point in that system, as I recall.

I've thought of contacting the Interstellar Line guys before, but have been busy all week and haven't gotten around to it. I forgot the password to my discord account at some point, and the last time I tried to use it, they had a gazillion miles of red tape that are required to reset it for some reason.

Edit: I was unaware that that was a player group until someone here pointed it out, though. I'm not sure what I was expecting, but I figured a player group would have other players present more regularly.

Talk to them. Getting into a BGS war as your first experience of the sim will not be an edifiying experience. BGS conflicts can be extremely draining, as it means you have to put in a great deal of effort just to stand still. On top of that, the number of players you can deploy becomes very important. A couple of people killing your faction's ships can leave you with just too much to do.

If I were you, I'd focus on a faction whose first action will not be to mess with a PMF. There's a reason treaties between neighbouring groups are so common.

Type up your message here and i can post it on their discord for you.
