What European Animals are still demanded?

I'm kinda interested in this eurasian brown bear talk, but if that's the case, surely we would also need Eurasian Wolf under the same theory?
Yeah. I mean, techincally we have the Eurasian Wolf in-game already. The current ‘Timer Wolf’ in game has a range that covers Europe and Asia.
However, it’s clear that the wolf is supposed to be a North American subspecies.
I think everyone would be much happier if they just split the wolf up into two subspecies; the Mackenzie Valley Wolf and Eurasian Wolf, with relatively little model changes. This would be such a minimal effort on Frontier’s behalf but would improve gameplay and QOL SO MUCH.
It’s a similar story with the Eurasian Brown Bear. By simply adding another Brown Bear into the game (such an easy task for Frontier), it would satisfy so many players who feel they were robbed of one of their continent’s most charismatic fauna (myself included).
It’s so sad that we only get one free animal per year. I don’t see Frontier adding either of these as an Anniversary gift, and I certainly don’t expect to see them in a DLC. But considering the absolute minimum amount of effort it would take to fix both of these mistakes from the base game, I would love to see these in a free update. Honestly, it would be SO EASY to do, but would be one of the most game-changing updates for me. I would finally be able to build a Europe section with ACTUAL headliners (well, once we get the Wisent or Muskox too).
So, this is a plea from me Frontier. Please add us a Eurasian Brown Bear and split the wolf. It would probably only take the same amount of resources as it took to give some animals extra coat variations in the last update, but would take the limit off of players wanting to build European zoos.

It would also be nice to get a touchup as the brownbear and wolf models are among the worst in the game

Completely agree - I think this could be a great opportunity to do those touchups. Another example I can think of is splitting our current lion into Asiatic and African species, and then giving that model a touchup too. But this thread is about European animals, and they are absolutely more necessary IMO, so the bear and wolf take priority.

I wouldn't use the musk ox as a European headliner. They only have a small amount of coverage in the Nordic countries. Even Arctic fox or polar bear live more in Europe.

I know, but they are still one of Europe’s most impressive fauna, despite their limited European range. I’d rather use the Muskox as a Muskox than the American Bison as a Wisent standin. But I’d rather have the Wisent overall!
I suppose I might think of Muskox as more European because Whipsnade used to hold them in the Europe section.

I'm in the same boat as @SuzieSky: I've never been to a European zoo nor have I visited a zoo with a dedicated European section.
That said, like you, Konig, I'm satisfied, but there is 1 animal I truly want: the wild boar. With the boar, I'm happy.

A huge, but highly unlikely, bonus would be if the HBB was remade into a Eurasian brown bear.
And the cherry on top, but also highly unlikely: remake the gray wolf into northwest wolf and give us a free Eurasian wolf...
Just to get my point across...

These are the 3 I consider highest priority of all European animals. If we get all 3, Europe will be, in my opinion, perfect.

But, is there ANY other animal besides this trio that's important? I'm asking as a native Texan who's never been to Europe, much less a European zoo

Other than that trio of animals hmm pelicans, rabbits/hare and wolverines come to mind. It's kinda hard to think of abundant European animals to add that are actually featured in a European zoo especially in northern Europe. Brown bear, wolves, wolverine, wildcat and European Bison would be commonly seen European animals. Then again zoos in Scotland are heavy on the Highland/northern woodland theming due to the climate

Lets just say as someone with common sence, 2/3 are just clones, with one of them technically being allready in the game.
So yes, theres a lot important but for imo highest priority simple: A Duck, the Mute Swan and the White Stork are all 3 super common in zoos and are desperatly needed, while theres also an argument to be made for the red squirrel and a marten as we do not have any arboreal animals for europe yet.
If we want to go a tier below, the western capercallie and ring necked pheasent would provide nice ground bird options that we desperatly need, while the chamois and alpine marmot would do a great job at supporting the alpine ibex for nice and sweet 3 animal thematic areas.
And only after all of these animals would i even consider "clones" but if anything the eurasian otter and the wisent would be prefered choices, as they both bring more to the game with a solidary all climate otter species with a bonkers range and one of the largest conversation success storys ever, that would also add an ungulate that isnt a deer, as right now we stand at 4 deer and 1 goat, so getting a bovine would be nice.

So yeah basicly saying that the eurasian wolf and brown bear are amongst the most important missing animals from europe is just odd.
Who cares about a slightly different wolf or brown bear? sure i wont mind them as a free bonus but it would never cross my mind that they add anything to the game that isnt allready there. Its unfoftunate that the HBB isnt the EBB, but if you care that much about a name change that you want a different animal, just get a mod.

Makes sense, makes sense. Which is why I asked in the 1st place. All this just reminds me that the HBB is still the weirdest, and perhaps worst, choice in the game and also the timber wolf should've been the northwest wolf instead of this weird "all wolf subspecies but clearly North American wolf" animal hybrid

I don't personally think the White stork is desperatly needed as a zoo animal, but i agree the ducks and swan are though. Any duck, any swan. Don't necesarily have to be european species.

I agree about that the EBB and eurasian wolf being unnecesary as new animals. Maybe the animals in game should just change name as the general species if that really bother people that much, but i don't care about a name at all. Is a fantasy game, i just use the wolf we have for european sections if i want a wolf.

And yes de HBB is the worst choice from the base game roster.

Overall Europe is pretty decently covered and represented, some key animals are still missing in my opinion.
I'd say key animals;
-Wild boar
-Wolverine
-Musk ox
-European bison
-Walrus
-Dalmatian pelican/great white pelican

Some fun extras, nice little extras;
-Chamois
-Mute swan
-Barbary monkey
-White stork(more interesting storks; Saddle billed for example)
