Engineers What EXACTLY do drag munitions do?

I've got a Pacifier frag cannon on my FAS with drag munitions. When I hit a ship with it I see that the effect lasts for about 5 seconds. But what exactly does it do? I've seen people say it makes your enemy maneuver as if the have zero engine pips. That is absolutely NOT what the in game description says, which is that it prevents the target from increasing thrust.

Anyone been hit by these? What effects did it have on you?

They are broken. Like pretty much everything. I did a lot of tests with them. Every test just show how pointless this thing is.

This is what it does and what the description means.

The effect is subtle on ships without drastic ENG pip/thrust slopes, but it seems to work. However, it does not prevent boosting and does not prevent ENG capacitor recharge.

Gotcha. So, useful against ships that suffer with zero engine pips, not so useful against ships that don't care much.

Meh. Guess I'll throw an APA in that slot

Try the Pacifier with rapid fire and screening shell. Less than 1 sec reload, almost like a BRRRRRT! shotgun.

I had the effect on a seeker missile rack. It was pretty fun and helped the Anaconda keep pace with smaller ships.

Are others not seeing any effect at all? Or only on certain weapons?

I can tell a difference in how fast the enemy can turn around. I was just trying to figure out the specifics of how it works so I can use it situationally

Because the missile lock sticks a little bit after enemies leave your field of view, I use it just as enemies pass behind me. It usually slows them down just enough that my 'conda can turn to face them again.

With smaller ships (Eagles, vipers, cobras), the second pass usually knocks them out.

I use them on my seeker missiles (one of them anyway) I noticed they do very very minor decrease to speed...useless against fighters but heavier vessels I have noticed I can gain on them much faster.. suddenly fleeing FDLs, Pythons and such can be slowed down until they are in firing range of weaponry. I use a Conda which can be slow (but 300m/s boost speed thanks to engineers ;) ) and I can gain on most vessels fleeing with barrages of Drag munition.

As far as I Know it does not stack. so multiple weapons with drag would be useless. as far as combat is concerned, I think thermal cascade for seekers would be best. Since you are using Pacifiers, corrosive and thermal munitions would be much more effective ;)

Try Long Range Mods, no DMG drop off, range on mine 7866 meters.
