I Unfortunately, I think I've got what appears to be a better understanding of the griefing. Does this definition sound about right "show a lack of emotion, especially the social emotions, such as shame, guilt, and embarrassment".
That's from a summary definition for something that apparently affects 1-5% in the USA. I'll leave it at that.
Man, the webmd sociopath diagnosis never get old. Good thing you're qualified to make psychiatric diagnosis, working off of blurbs from the internet, based on the behavior of people in video games, and their interactions on texts based forums. My girlfriend is gonna be devastated when I tell her how much time and money she's wasted on med school, working towards being a psychiatrist, when she could have achieved the same result by googling some symptoms.
I have a personal theory on the difference as well, but it's a little less reliant on buzzwords and questionable diagnosis. I think the people you refer to as sociopaths have a firmer grasp on the difference between fiction and reality, and the ability to act like a bad person in a fictional medium while being a perfectly well adjusted individual in real life.
