Realistically? Nothing would change apart from visuals. Instead of Asps, Pythons and Anacondas you would fly Basilisks, scouts and interceptors. There would be one and single cockpit layout, no matter what ship you would be in. We don't know how their homeworld is organized so we don't know if they have space station or surface installations (hmm... ruins we have may work as one). We don't know what they trade if they trade. So basically we would get reskins.
At first it would be hype. Something new. But for the balance reasons it would be set you can't replicate original maneuvers and we would have same strange rubber band controls, with sloooooooooooooow turning rates.
For thagroids to be playable it should be made totally whole new game. Seeing how FDEVs struggle with implementing carriers...
