What is left?

I really never wanted to start a whining thread since I was so hyped for this game and trusted Frontier. But after yesterdays and today reveals I have to ask what is left.
So this game has a simplified park building sim with only 3 attraction the most basic buildings and so on. I always thought and was told that this is due to the fact, that the main focus of this game are the animals. But since today we now that those animals only have a basic AI with no proper herding behaviour, sleeping etc.
I also thought that with all the genetic modification focusing on the attack and defend stats of the animals, that the fighting would be a major feature of this game. Since the recent gameplay reveals I know, that the fighting is just basic and simple round based, scripted one on one combat with no pack hunting or fighting to be in sight.
So that is where I have to ask, what is now left in this game? We don't have a full on park building simulator nor do we have a realistic "dinosaur zoo" simulation.
Maybe some of those things will come later on during this or next year, maybe Frontier should be a little clearer when it comes to their roadmap. But for now, I don't see any justification to pay 60€ for this game.

The current AMA just makes me think this is a $30 game.

No herding behavior? No pack hunting? Only one kill animation? No sleeping? Only 1 ride (2 including monorail). Repetitive, boring fights.

It's a $30 game. That AMA has killed my hype.

Well of course nobody forces me but I had preordered as soon as I could because I really looked forward to that game. But as I said, there is literally nothing left of that hype because most of the things promised are somewhat wrong.
"Build your own Park", yes I can build my own park but with just a few buildings and attractions and the management is rudimentary. "We wanted to make our dinos as realistic as possible", no herding, no sleeping, just a handfull animations...enough said.
Yeah my wish for this game is I want what was advertised.

Yeah to their credit they haven't misled people.... Although showing the video with sleeping dinosaurs and a pack of raptors chasing a Triceratops is a bit dodgy.

But I meant more a mediocre game that becomes good in like 6 months.

Unfinished might be the right word. Depends if the complex behaviour with sleeping etc. was at some point in this game. If it was and will eventually come back ok I can live with that. I guess the game had to be ready for the movie. But if there wont be any work on that in the future it kinda goes in the direction of false advertising.

You had hype? you always complained about every aspect of the game. I am still hyped for the game, Sleeping dinos does not make or break anyhting for me

No? Because JPOG from 2003 had sleeping dinos and basic herd beaviour (when fleeing from the helicopter for example). As before what is left now of this game? No real parksim, no realistic Dinosaurs. What is left?

No I didn't.

I've been positive about Sorna, scarring, the Dino selection, the obscure species, the graphics, genome editing, the fact there's a story, the dinosaur designs etc

My complaints are all justified. No herding behavior is inexcusable given its a memorable part of the movie.

The fights, what we've seen, ARE slow and boring. And so on.

Sleeping animation isn't a game breaker. But it's something so basic and simple that even 15 year old JPOG had and should be included but isn't.

So... if I decide to look what my dinosaurs do, they are going to walk, eat, fight in circles and run when there is a breakdown? That's it? There isn't some kind of interactions between dinosaurs of the same species, different, and carnivores?
Please, tell me that this post is just trolling. XD

You may say I'm needlessly complaining. But, can you honestly say that AMA was encouraging?

Even jpog had basic herding, raptor pack hunting, more than 1 ride, sleep behavior.

They say that there is actually quite sophicated AI that they have been working on, each dinosaur reacts diferenntly. Believe me, he is blowing it out of proportion, I read the whole AMA

This is a HUGE disappointment.

The lack of cosmetics, and now robotic dinos. Lazy lazy devs. But i'll give you my money either way, so you prob don't care.

I can, they did not say there was no hearding, the only think they said was that Dinos do not sleep, which we figured since there was no rest bar. They also which you seem to have forgotton to mention in every post that they are worked hard on making the AI extremley different for each Dinosaur, Raptors will be smarter, quicker and more intelligent than others. You are reading what you want to see and ignoring the rest.
