Are they going to be the same game just updated graphics and new mechanics? From the trailer for Odyssey, it looked more like a fps rather than exploring the universe and such. I would love some clarification!

Why not look in the Odyssey Alpha sub-forum?
In E: D you are your ship, can venture out on planets as a surface recon vehicle or in space as a ship launched fighter.
Odyssey adds walking to that, you are also the pilot, not only your ship.
Ah! So it's pretty similar to the original but a TON MORE is added in Ody?
Do you reckon that people will migrate to Ody when it launches or will the original be pretty active like it is now on steam charts?
Is it a standalone game or considered a DLC like you said?
It's an expansion. You need the base game.
