What is the maximum distance between systems linked by missions?

The reason I asked is that I'm trying to determine criteria to find the best places to grind imperial or federation rank. Ideally, the two systems involved would have only one station each, and each would have multiple factions associated with the relevant major power. They needn't be "Imperial" or "Federation" systems, they just need to have enough of the appropriate minor factions. They also need to be relatively far from other systems with lots of stations.

I did the Ngalin-Mainani grind, and I'm doing Sothis-Ceos, but the latter has too many stations and not enough federation factions.

So... since EDDB has the data but can't look up multiple systems based on relative proximity, I thought that I'd download EDDB data, import it into SQL Server, and write a query to calculate the best places.

Since factions don't have influence in systems that far away there's no real impetus to pay for missions there. Factions seem to care about neighboring systems, perhaps as these other factions cross the bridge often and interfere with operations, ergo kill missions and such.

I finished the Ngalinn-Mainani grind in just 4 very persistent hours of game time.
Also blew around 100m on donations just to speed up the process... because like what the BatFleck said..... My superpower is I'm rich.

Interesting. I'm about to embark on my Fed rank g-g-g-g-g-grind just for that Corvette in maybe a week.
Would be interested to know of any shortcuts just like Ngalinn. I'm completely uninterested in flying around the bubble just to get things done. Playing ping-pong between 2 systems seems like the best way to do it.
