What is your ideal Primate DLC (Animal Pack or Scenery)

Here is my list for an animal pack that be perfect for getting more primates, I have excluded the Hamadryas Baboon because we could likely see it in a Highlands DLC, and apes all together because we surely have enough apes. Here are my thoughts.

The free update feature is being able to move certain animals between exhibits and habitats, and you will know what I mean soon. Another exhibit feature could be hanging hair, which is basically adding long shaggy hair on animals such as the Bornean Orangutan, the Western Lowland Gorilla, the Siamang, the Binturong, the West African Lion, the American Bison etc.

Primate Animal Pack:
  1. Black Howler Monkey (Habitat)
  2. Gelada (Habitat)
  3. Black-Handed Spider Monkey (Habitat)
  4. Coquerel's Sifaka (Habitat)
  5. Golden Snub-Nosed Monkey (Habitat)
  6. Mantled Guereza (Habitat)
  7. Common Squirrel Monkey (Habitat), a possible alternative is the White-Faced Saki
  8. Mini Monkeys: Golden Lion Tamarin, Cotton-Top Tamarin, Emperor Tamarin, Common Marmoset, Pygmy Marmoset and Goeldi's Marmoset/Monkey (Habitat and Walkthrough Exhibit)
What do you think, would you be happy with this line-up

Animal pack (includes a small smattering of climbing props):
Common squirrel monkey
Mantled guereza
Hamadryas baboon
Geoffroy's spider monkey
Golden lion tamarin
Lion-tailed macaque
Coquerel's sifaka
Monkey-tailed skink (exhibit hehehe)

1. Common Squirrel Monkey
2. Lion-Tail Macaque
3. Hamadryas Baboon
4. Black Howler Monkey
5. White-faced Saki
6. De Brazza Monkey
7. Golden Lion Tamarin

I do not want any primate in the huge exhibit box, so I will just leave the last one empty.

Here's mine:
  • Black Howler Monkey
  • Hamadryas Baboon
  • Corquel's Sifaka
  • Lion-Tailed Macaque
  • Angolan Colobus
  • Bald Uakari
  • Slow Loris
  • Walkthrough Exhibit - A series of small monkeys or tamarins. Basically, I'm agreeing with RedPandaReggie's initial post.

My opinion reflects my primate zoo and the empty habitats I have made alongside habitats that could welcome new members
1. Hamadrays baboons
2. Geladas
3. Barbary macaque
Those 3 I need to fill in empty habitats in my zoo.
4. Red Howler monkeys
5. Vervet monkeys
6. Another type of langur (Im not sure which one to pick)
7. Spider monkey
Now these picks would share with my other monkey habitats. SA could use some larger monkeys, AF could use a smaller monkey and il take 1 more for SEA.
The WE sounds nice

  • Red-shanked Douc [CR] (Habitat)
  • Diana Monkey [EN] (Habitat)
  • Silvery Gibbon [EN] (Habitat)
  • Diademed Sifaka [CR] (Habitat)
  • Golden Snub-Nosed Monkey [EN] (Habitat)
  • De Brazza's Monkey [LC] (Habitat)
  • Golden Lion Tamarin [EN] (Habitat)
  • Azara's Night Monkey [LC] (Walkthrough Exhibit)

Common Squirrel Monkey
Red Howler Monkey
Black Headed Spider Monkey
Aye Aye
Hamadryas Baboon
Golden Lion Tamarin
Emperor Tamarin
Slow Loris (any species) (WE)

I realize the Black Howler monkey is the more well known and popular pick, but given we'd have a black "larger" monkey with the Spider MonkeyI was trying to give some color variation. Several options to put the tamarins in as WE animals didnt seem right, given their variation, yet they're pretty small, not much larger than Lorises.

An animal pack with a climbing and brachiation update.

1. Howler monkey
2. Spider monkey
3. Uakari or white face saki
4. Mantled guereza
5. Golden snub nosed monkey
6. Lion tailed macaque
7. Hamadryas baboon
8. WE: tamarins

Take all my money!

My ideal primates pack has one, maybe two primates in it... and then the rest of the spots go to non-primates... because dedicating an entire pack to one subject is about as dumb as putting a monkey in an exhibit box...

Animal pack

Sifaka
Hamadryas baboon
Javan lutung
Spider monkey
Golden lion tamarin
Eastern black and white colobus
Black howler monkey
Pygmy marmoset

All habitat animals. I feel like having the marmosets be walkthrough would be a waste since they can just traverse regular trees and we already have really small habitat animals like meerkats

Well given the majority of requested habitat animals are in fact primates, getting a pack to cover a majority of requested slots doesn't seem too far fetched. If we do indeed receive a dlc for primates, fantastic. How is it really different to getting an Aviary DLC? A dlc dedicated entirely to aviary or habitat birds, with the exception of potential new bats alongside them.

Also the problem with putting a monkey in the exhibit box can be solved. If Frontier adds the feature of allowing certain habitat species to be moved between the exhibits and the habitats. Animals like the mini monkeys in my idea could open the window for other species like Alligator Snapping Turtles, Chinese Giant Salamanders, Indian Star and potentially Elongated Tortoises, even the current Brown-Throated Sloth, and the Green and Lesser Antillean Iguanas could be considered too.

But overall, the Primate Pack or Animal Pack would flesh out the roster of primates we have currently which comprises of about 6 apes, 3 old world monkeys, 1 new world monkey and 3 lemurs. So we need more, the ones I have proposed are comprised of no apes, 9 new world monkeys, 1 new lemur and 3 old world monkeys, fleshing out specific niches that currently lack representation or diversifies a few.

The Gelada, able to be interchanged with the Hamadryas Baboon if one were come in a Mountains DLC, they would add a new African monkey, of which we currently have the Mandrill which can be argued to be pretty similar. The Hamadryas Baboon or Gelada would add a lot to our savannah or African precincts and the primate roster. The Black Howler, Black-Handed Spider Monkey, Common Squirrel Monkey and mini monkeys add diverse species of new world primate that don't look very similar to each other. In the case of the mini monkeys, the Golden Lion Tamarin is bright orange, the Cotton Top Tamarin has a rockstar haircut, the Emperor Tamarin looks like an irl Lorax, the Common Marmoset has distinct white tufts, the Pygmy Marmoset is the smallest monkey in the world and the Goeldi's Monkey is a glossy black colour. For the old world primates outside of the Gelada, the Coquerel's Sifaka, yes, it is a lemur, has an iconic method of locomotion unlike the current lemurs, it would move in its own unique way, that is unless we got another sifaka after it. The Golden Snub-Nosed Monkey is an iconic species of China's highlands, with an orange and gold coat, and of course the blue face. Lastly the Mantled Guereza has long hanging hair on their body and tails, and it would be a cool mechanic to see, hanging hair on animals.

But despite the pack being comprised of just primates, there is a lot of value in each species, and they are all fairly unique.

Well the reason they can be walkthrough exhibit and habitat, is that with them, they would all use the same animation set, both in the exhibit and the habitat, so the model only has to be changed to suit each of the 6 species.

  1. Tamarins in exhibit: Golden Lion Tamarin, Cotton Top Tamarin, Emperor Tamarin, Golden Headed Lion Tamarin, Black Lion Tamarin
  2. Geoffroy's Spider Monkey (Comparable to Lar Gibbon in color variation)
  3. Black Howler Monkey
  4. Common Squirrel Monkey
  5. Hamadryas Baboon
  6. Mantled Colobus
  7. Grey Langur
  8. De Brazza's or Wolf's Guenon
  9. (If I could add one more): Golden Snub Nosed Monkey
I think these would flesh out the roster pretty well, but there are many others that would also be good.

Ok with that stipulation, I can accept it.

However, I would like a guarantee that they'll definitely be able to be used as habitat animals

1. Geoffroy's Spider Monkey - Flagship
2. Hamadryas Baboon
3. Black Howler Monkey
4. Mantled Guereza
5. Bolivian Squirrel Monkey
6. Golden Snub-Nosed Monkey
7. Aye-Aye - I needed something that wasn't a monkey
WE. Golden Lion Tamarin, Golden-Headed Lion Tamarin, Cotton-Top Tamarin, Emperor Tamarin, Common Marmoset
