Ok guys, I have taken the time to rethink the Primate DLC. In my mind, this could be the first DLC we get multiple habitat animals filling a slot, and for those who want the Aye-Aye and Aye (yes), I have an idea for where it come in.
So here is the Primate Animal Pack:
- Black Howler Monkey
- Geoffroy's Spider Monkey
- Hamadryas Baboon or alternatively the Gelada
- Coquerel's Sifaka
- Golden Snub-Nosed Monkey
- Mantled Guereza
- Common Squirrel Monkey
- Mini Monkeys Habitat Hexalogy - Golden Lion Tamarin, Cotton-Top Tamarin, Emperor Tamarin, Common Marmoset, Western Pygmy Marmoset and Goeldi's Marmoset
- Exhibit Animal: Pygmy Slow Loris or alternatively the Bengal Slow Loris (both of which don't move around too much, whether we could get an alternative exhibit design to house these nocturnal venomous primates, I don't know, maybe a larger exhibit box with space for climbing frames, and small trees, another kind of exhibit rather than the terrarium and walkthrough exhibit, just a spot for arboreal species that rarely go to the ground).
That is my reworked primate DLC, I wanted to include perhaps the Crab-Eating/Long-Tailed Macaque due to their semi-aquatic behaviours, but we do have the far more aquatic Proboscis Monkey already, so maybe we don't really need it given Baboons are actually quite capable swimmers, so moats maybe not be safe from the Hamadryas Baboon without viable walls to keep them at bay. But what do you think, there are of course various other primates that could be in the pack, species like the White-Faced Saki, Bald Uakari, a Night Monkey/Owl Monkey, Aye-Aye, a species of Langur Monkey like a Francois Langur or Red-Shanked Douc, a Guenon or Mangabey, Vervet Monkey, all of which would be fantastic inclusions, just not enough space, I was already pushing it at 9 slots, with 6-8 in slot 8.
On the topic of the bizarre Aye-Aye, it is one primate that should definitely be added to Planet Zoo one day, so I think it could be a viable inclusion, with a slot left by the Fossa, and potentially the Coquerel's Sifaka, the Aye-Aye can fill the Madagascar slot in an Islands DLC.
As for the others, Sakis, Uakaris, Night Monkeys, Langur, Guenons, Mangabeys, Vervets, all of those, I don't really know where they can be included, maybe a revisit to Latin America for the Saki, Uakari and Night Monkey perhaps, Langur for an Asia DLC, Mangabey and Guenon for a Congo Mini Pack or something, and Vervet Monkey could be added in a Safari DLC. There are various other primates too, like Bushbabies, Pottos, other Lemurs like Blue-Eyed Black Lemurs, Mongoose Lemurs and Brown Lemurs, monkeys like Rhesus Macaques, Olive Baboons and Northern Plains Gray Langurs, and even apes like Silvery Gibbons, White-Cheeked and Black-Crested Gibbons, Sumatran Orangutan and Central Chimpanzee too. This is why primates are so cool, because Planet Zoo simply doesn't have enough of them.
There are so many cool primates to choose from, I thought of the players and what they would want from this DLC, not wanting to have to many personal and obscure choices in there, making it is a diverse of a pack as possible, giving a wide range of primates with different features, ways of movement, different shapes and sizes, all of that. I wanted to make a DLC that could give everyone a lot, picking some of the most widely spread primates in captivity, and lesser known species that can draw attention.
But what would you change about this pack, my advice, think of the majority and not just the minority or yourself, something that many would buy and be happy with.
