What kind of music do you listen to while playing ED?

If I could find a way to combine the soundtrack of No Man's Sky with Elite: Dangerous, I'd listen to that. And no, not the album that was released, because they've expand the soundtrack since then and it sounds different anyways. Elite's soundtrack is too generic space opera for me, which is why it's muted most of the time.

Depends what I'm doing really. Quite a few I can't post here, but I can say "Go search Alestorm."

I also have a collection of sea chanties I rather enjoy, as well as a number of classical pieces, and a few others.

Here's a few I can share:

ED Soundtrack. I love the stock music of the game [heart]

Me too but I run an underspec laptop with half the minimum necessary CPU cores! so I listen on audiostereophonoradiogram :D

For Thargoid Science .. (live animal experiments and vivisection) and for anything else, anything Ozric will do;

Of late it's been the Kingsman soundtrack; both movies. Especially 'Skydiving' and 'Finale' from the first film, and of course 'Manners Maketh Man'.

Because they do.

"Are we going to stand around here all day? Or are we going to fight?"

Though I admit I do little fighting in ED -- but they're great tracks for plunging through star systems and diving down on planet surfaces looking for hidden bases and wreck sites.

And 'Eggsy is Back' from The Golden Circle. That's good for bouncing SRVs around over hills and through canyons, especially when under fire. (I don't do a lot of fighting -- but sometimes other people do it to me, and then I do a lot of running.) :D

They (Thargoids) have returned but this was my music for "They are coming" era.

Bunch of game soundtracks:
Master of Orion (the original, 1993)
Master of Orion II
Star Control II (original PC + 3DO & UQM remixes)
Command & Conquer: Tiberian Dawn
Command & Conquer: Red Alert
Duke Nukem 3D
Crusader: No Remorse
Crusader: No Regret
UFO: Enemy Unknown (the original, 1992)
Frontier: First Encounters
Elite: Dangerous

Also several original C64 tunes and modern remakes/remixes of them, bunch of old Sci-Fi film themes and some more - all in one big playlist.

The Stallaris OST is SUCH a good listen. Regarding music, it depends what I'm doing. While I was flying to Sagittarius A*, I listened to Drew Wager's "Reclamation" Audio book, which i HIGHLY recommend. If I'm just flitting around I might find some atmospheric space music, but if I'm doing combat, the in-game music seems suitably epic. Although having said that, I think next time I play I'll listen to "Night on a Stormy Mountain" for the memories.
