What method do you use to keep your stored modules organized?

The game doesn’t make it easy to keep one’s stored modules organized, and my stored modules can quickly become a mess. I have to be pretty meticulous about keeping notes, and if I swap out modules, I have to make sure I make a note. (But even keeping notes, the organization teeters on the edge of chaos, and from time to time I have a massive sale of stuff I don’t remember when/why I bought it).

What method do you use to keep your modules organized?

[Edit] ...and do you have any suggestions for Frontier, to improve this area? I was thinking: icon in the GalMap & SysMap to tell us there are stored modules, and the ability to add a custom label to modules, like “Explorer Dolphin” or “mining Phantom”. Maybe you have some good ideas.

I dont have much of a storage method, except for my Dropship docked out in the Pleidies Nebula, that station stores all of my Anti Xeno gear. I'm with you, I wish there were folders or tabs or something for module storage.

While we are on the topic of organization, folders/dividers etc for bookmark with colored icons for the galaxy map would be delicious right about now fdev...

No method. It's madness. Every now and then I'll scroll through them to clean it up and wonder why I ever bought 7 wake scanners of various grades.

I'm a minimalist, so I keep very few stored modules, usually weapons that I have engineered with different purposes in mind. Once you unlock Jameson Memorial, there really isn't a reason to store non-engineered modules unless you like to change modules "on the fly" (like Xeno weapons or mining gear).

The motto of the minimalist is "Less is more!" :D

I build a ship to a certain spec and don't bother storing any modules.
I’ve started buying multiples of the same ship, because reoutfitting ships was too painful, but still, sometimes I have to make minor changes, like swapping out fuel scoops with cargo racks, if I’m taking my trader out to Ceos/Sothis. Or adding the appropriate sized passenger cabin to my explorer Dolphin, if I decide to do a passenger mission. The random leftovers I have are usually cargo racks, fuel scoops, and passenger cabins. All my engineered modules and weapons are at Shinrarta Dehzra.

I’ve never done PowerPlay, but I’ve been eyeing some of the PowerPlay modules and weapons. If you leave a power, you lose access to the toys that the Power offers, so storage is absolutely necessary. It’d be real nice if we could add a custom tag/bookmark to PowerPlay modules, for those who jump around and don’t stay in one Power for long. But in the meantime...it would be nice hearing from commanders who have a simple, logical organization system.

A complete mess it is. I store combat stuff to one specific station, another one has exploration stuff and another has the rest so i have to visit each. Also a station at pleiades has ships and anti xeno stuff in its storage there. I also keep power play stuff on various ships on Jameson Memorial.

Mine's simple, any extra stuff is to re-outfit existing ships for other roles.
Pass cabins, cargo racks, mining things.
I don't keep extra eng gear, cause I hate engineering, and everything RNG'd is in use.

I'm up to 8 storage ships all in one station. Most recent purchase was a T10 storage ship. Inara.cz has a great "all modules" filter interface, so I can find anything I need very quickly.
