General / Off-Topic What movie remake would you like to see?

I recently re-watched Capricorn One (1977 ) movie about fake mission to Mars made by NASA that went horribly wrong and turned government against the involved astronauts. Now, the concept is still great, but in my eyes the movie did not aged well and I felt - damn someone should get this script and make a new movie, we have not that many movies around fake NASA missions.
Do you have any wishes for some old movie re makes?

Please no remakes. Movies I like, I like for what they are. Movies I don't like won't miraculously become good just because someone "reimagine" them.

I want new movies. New GOOD movies, that is. I remember when I was young, I went to the cinema at least twice a week, because there was always something interesting to see. Nowadays I go twice a year.

Last film that I really really liked ("liked" as in being genuinely entertained and remembering that I liked it) was... Lucky number Slevin. And that was quite some time ago.

It's too bad that you feel that way, Chris. Here, have another super hero movie.

I think it's about time for another Spiderman reboot.

It's already time for that reboot to be rebooted.

Work on the 15th generation reboot started before this message is posted. Lol

As for movies.

Big Trouble In Little China. Lol

Battlestar Galactica (which is apparently in the works!)
Lost In Space (Apparently in the works!)

Event Horizon would be cool.

Probably loads more. Lol

I wish I was English like my hero Tj.
On the one hand, reboots are way overdone. On the other hand, classic stories have been told and retold and changed since humans first developed language. :) So I don't have a problem with re-imaginings and reboots per-se.... I just wish they were not such a large percentage of big budget Hollywood production these days.

That said, I know that there were discussions a few years ago about redoing Forbidden Planet. I think J. Michael Straczynski of Babylon 5 fame was at the helm. AFAIK that whole thing fell apart. I'm a big fan of the original and would love to see it brought back. (And speaking of reimaginings - that movie was a retelling of The Tempest. lol)

This movie had a potential to be very cool dark Lovecraftian like story, but they messed it up badly imo - definitely something I would like to see re written and shoot again.

+1. Yeah, I read Event Horizon and found it to be really entertaining. Then saw the movie and thought to myself, "WFT is this?"

I can't stand reboots.
More spiderman, more hulk.
However, I'm glad LOTR was done well finally.
If there was a gun to my head, and I had to choose one thing to be rebooted, and it would be of the caliber of LOTR, I'd choose Dune.

Them!, but don't ruin it with overdone CGI everywhere keep to the original story.

None.

Most remakes/reboots are total failures and don't pay any homage to the original(s).

I would like to see Hollywood have one original idea, just for a change (I'm looking at you Abrams).

I suppose it's time for a flick about sexual harassment..........

Not just the film industry. How many video game re-releases lately?
