What other games are we all playing?

Transport Fever 2 launched its console versions today, with improvements for the Windows version and a deluxe dlc for a small sum. Happy to continue to support developers who continue to support their customers.

And yes, it has a macOS version. I just don't know how they can afford it, must be financial suicide ;)

Thanks for this notice, I've been waiting for the big update before jumping back into TF2.

Subnautica
Sadly, they still haven't fixed the problem that's causing my game not to save, including during the initial setup. It basically creates a map with just the terrain, and none of the life within. They have a "work around," but I refuse to apply a "fix" that includes the caveat "do so at your own risk!"

Subnautica and Nebulous: Fleet Command are on Steam Sale.

I'm playing online poker with fake money. :)
I went straight to the vid search; found and watched several on Nebulous: FC and I was impressed. I never heard of it. Its a Homeworld type of game, RTS I think its called. Looks nice.
This is one vid I found by a fan.

I usually don't make meme ships or push stuff to the limit, but the beamer BB I designed in Nebulous is quite powerful. Has to go in 6km range but then it tears anything apart. But that's what rock hugging is for. Tried it with the destroyers first and took that to next level in BB build.
Though I gotta say: The modular missile system isn't so bad either. Now they can actually hit once in a while, especially the ones with terminal stage booster (minimal reaction time)

After two years I have loaded up TW:Warhammer 2 once again. Had an existing save campaign with Clan Mulder, but the Chaos Invasions had annyoed me. Now I checked and discovered an option to disable those. Started a new Mulder campaign and found out I had played my last couple campaigns on hard, no idea why. Restarted on normal, I must have been another person back then.

I thought of a Longbeard campaign but they are a bit boring. Artillery and guns never get old though. But the Vampire Coast and Empire playthroughs are legion.

Well, I did the starty stuff and when I skittered hither and tither with my ratstack I noticed Sylvania already nesting in the ruins sout of me. What the... I have already nemesis enemy. And just 1 ratstack...

Every time I don't buy X4 when it is on sale, I kick myself.

It's on sale.

The game with the user-hostile UI keeps taunting me. So many have said it's close to Elite in gameplay. The negative reviews on Steam confirm the klunky interface.

Arrrrrgh!

EDIT: So I'm bored of E:D after playing less hours of it then almost any other game I've bought in the last two years. I find myself going back to older games and reliving the excitements.

So what are ya'll playing to hold you over? What are you waiting for that will bring you back to E:D?

Me: Coh2, Sim city 5, a little bf4 and some Heroes and Generals
Sid Myers: Alpha Centauri

Broken Ranks, a free MMO inspired by Baldur's Gate (story-rich and isometric view) and HOMM3 (sort of, combat). It's a great little game - only takes 3 GB of disk space. Offers LOTS of fun and good storyline. The "free" part is well balanced too. It does have a premium currency, but it's not pay to win and you can play for free without feeling like you're forced to pay to enjoy the game.

Definitely a nice little gem I randomly discovered by accident!

Right now I'm playing AC Valhalla, great SP RPG game, got it on steam sale with all the DLC and there is plenty to do for hours and hours.
I enjoy river raiding the English ;)

Such a shame the reviews never recovered from the unsuccesful launch.
A shame, yes, but does it deserve to recover? How many of the issues behind the bad reviews of 2 years ago have actually been fixed?
On that note the (unaltered, I think) system requirements for the base game are now a sick joke, given that it now has the same badly-optimised engine as Odyssey. I shudder to think how awful the experience would be for someone on even the recommended spec for the base game given that I can barely get acceptable performance on a 7700K and GTX 970, with everything on minimum. Anyone just above min spec should hope to give up in time for a refund.

I think it might, although it probably doesn't deserve to. At this time the only people buying odd would be new honeymooners, and they never played legacy so don't know what they're missing. At the moment its back up to 36% positive, at what point does it change to mixed?

Oh do you mean make it positive? Well its not positive. And there probably won't be enough momentum to do that before elite or frontier move on.

My hesitancy / disinterest is based on current observations, not the state of the game on release. Ironically, the game was BETTER in some regards on release (or at least the alpha), because Frontier has nerfed graphics quality since the alpha in order to "optimize" performance.

I saw the sale, thought about it for maybe a minute, and then decided, "Nope, that money is going to the Kingdom's End DLC." ** I don't know if I'd play Odyssey even if it were given away for free. Horizons 4.0 is free, and I have zero interest in it. Frontier took a decent game and ruined it IMO - emphasis on opinion, because my preferences in graphics, performance, planetary tech, and UI are highly subjective.

** EDIT - OR it might go to SpaceBourne 2 for just a dollar more!

Let me talk you down from that ledge. The UI isn't as bad as it first appears, once you get the hang of using it. You just need to know some tricks and keyboard shortcuts. As someone who plays X4 like Elite, I can say that the UI minimally bothers me these days. Of course it could be a whole lot better, but if you play the game like Elite rather than Stellaris, you shouldn't even need to use the clunkier parts of the UI that often.

Of course this assumes you have K&M close by. I fly with a controller, using the same mapping as Elite, but I interact with the map and ship manager using K&M.
