Newcomer / Intro What Should My Bartender Sell?

Having finished just about all the hand weapon and suit modifications I want, I've got leftover materials (I also enjoy gathering new ones).

My fleet carrier is based in Colonia, convenient for all Odyssey engineering.

But what items (Assets) would be good to sell to other players? Can you remember any particularly hard-to-find ones that you looked up on Inara to buy from another player, e.g. for unlocking the engineers?

Personally I turned all my assets into graphene, microelectrodes, and weapon components (for inventory reasons), when I put my surplus up for sale they were gone quickly.

Yes, I've turned most of mine into the high value items, but there was particular stuff to unlock an engineer I remember I had to look for some player selling, but it was so long ago I can't remember what it was.

I don't think you need any assets to unlock the engineers, just goods or data.
Don't FC bartenders sell those? Seem little advantage over station ones, then.

ETA:
Seems he can. So the question remains - which of these are most likely to be bought by players? Data is meant to be the hardest thing to get, right?

For those of us who are not that "into" FPS, it is a shame that FDEV increased the allowed mark-up to such enormous levels. I went and bought Push from a FC as I couldn't find a marker place with those container thingies, looking at the prices wanted for other stuff while I was there made my eyes water.

Ask @Tyres O'Flaherty what he sold to get loadsa credits recently.

Otherwise anything that is hard or annoying to find that is needed for engineering.
Data was a big seller.

Obviously, the stuff that seems a little less frequently offered on missions like security expenses, combatant performance, mining analytics.

Also, compressed liquified er.. thingy, and ionised gas were good sellers.

SDPs will always sell well.

However, it does seem to all be calming down a little now.

Maybe we had a misunderstanding.. :) There are 3 different classes of mats that you can pick up, assets, data, and goods. Assets are divided into 3 categories, and for inventory reasons I've traded up the surplus of assets to the 3 most expensive. For the engineer unlocks you do need some of the goods and data. Maybe Odyssey Material Helper will help you sort out what mats are useless and can be sold to a concourse bartender, which are useful and could possibly be sold through a fleet carrier bartender. It's also a great utility to help keep track on what mats you need to acquire for your next upgrade or mod, it even has a coloured overlay that will show you what data to download, and what data is useless and has to be sold to a bartender for money.

Any of the data ones, SDPs etc, but to be fair you wont make much out of selling suit materials as they are very low priced for what it takes to get them.
I pretty much use the Bar staff to store materials which ive passed on for free to others.
If your doing a lot of restore missions and the like, then its an added bonus but pretty much anything else like mining/combat will get you more credits for your effort.

I think it's probably a nice way to get rid of your surplus. If you like to do on foot stuff, once you're through the suit/weapon acquisition you'll find that the mats start to overflow your storage and it's kind of nice to be able to sell what you don't need.

I've got many billions of credits so not bothered about income. But I would like to help out players who are in the position I was in, when trying to get materials to improve my suits and weapons and finding them very scarce, or near impossible to find.

Yes, that's a brilliant tool. I should probably make a Wishlist that is actually all the stuff for unlocks and upgrades that I don't need, but which newer players might.
