Assuming that there will be Alliance-specific ships in the future, what sort of design would you like them to have?
The Federation has angular, blocky designs that evoke Apache helicopters.
The Empire has that overdesigned iPod look where there are no hard angles and everything is white and organic, as if they cloned Luigi Colani.
So the Alliance can't be either. It has to be visually distinct. And maybe issues with creating a visually distinct look is what keeps us from having Alliance ships?
I would love the Alliance to have a very functional, modular design involving a lot of cylindrical and spherical modules (like the Mantis transport of yore), so that it looks a bit more like current NASA or ESA spacecraft. I wouldn't mind if bits would look like they were insulated with tinfoil. That way you'd avoid stepping on the toes of the blocky federal style and/or the organic, overdesigned Empire style.
What do you think?
