Im sure many of you have seen this already but could someone in the know explain what this could be?

for those who haven't seen it, it appears to be a sphere object/ phenomenon that appears to be sucking matter from our sun over a few days and then vanishes?

I imagine that it could be a solar prominence but the difference between this and a solar prominence is that sphere.

I think I've seen this (or something like it) on a conspiracy theory debunking site not long ago. Their best guess was that the "sphere" is a flux tube viewed end-on.

I guess you could always implement these kind of effects in ED so we can check it out from different angles and make sure!
