WHAT THE HELL! - AI way too strong now

The most annoying thing about the AI is that it hasn't any I!

When you get interdicted by a Wing and the leader tells you all they want is cargo, yet you're not carrying any and they don't even take the time to scan and check, but all 3 of them start to open fire.

Now that is when you ask "What the hell!"

That is indeed the problem. The tactical improvements are great but the gameplay logic is sadly lacking.

I have a combat Python shield boosters extram armor etc. I bounty hunted like hundred of hours in the past. I know how it works Minoo und ilo.

But the HAS REZ is really tough. It wasn't like that 2 days ago. I think with .02 came a AI buff. It's annoying that they constantly fiddle around with the game.
.

Let's be fair, Hazardous RES are supposed to be the most hardcore death march content currently in the game. It it wasn't very hard to a single player on any combat ship it would be weird.

Seems working as intended in this case. There are 3 other types of RES. Try one of these until you find your own sweet spot.

I wonder what faction will win, those who want the player to have a fist in yer face at all times or those who want a GAME.

Does it being a "GAME" mean that it nees to be a milk run and everybody needs to be able to kill Elite rated NPCs with ease?

Orly? So explain the phrase "You suck" and how I somehow didn't comprehend it correctly.

Turns out it was true though, nothing was changed or has been changed. They failed and wanted to whine about it - blame someone other than themselves for their failure. The constant hyperbole by people who think "the game is too tough" needs to stop. The bashing of those people needs to stop. The defending of these arguments as if hyperbole is a worthwhile opine needs to stop.

It won't, but while people are all emotional and getting it off their chest it is a great opportunity to add all the people who will annoy you while browsing the forums onto your ignore list.

buff, nerf, buff, nerf, ... It's reaaaaaaaaaaally annoying. The AI got patched again yesterday? with .02????

WTH! I can't kill any ship without almost losing my Python. Can we please leave things as they are now? I can't just think of any game that is so annoying with the CONSTANT buff and nerf !

Nope, sorry to burst your bubble, but FD hasn't touched the AI at all since the release of 2.1. If you have problems now that you haven't before, the simple truth is: you suck.

Janichsan's remark of sucking could easily be replaced with "you failed" and still be taken as offensive even though his post was right on the money. Nothing has changed.... they got beaten and wanted to whine about it. He could do with being less crass but he is the only one that provided a link and rebuttal to the apparent "changes" that have happened - before loads of people jumped on yet another bandwagon of whining.

Have you tried practicing and learning combat techniques to overcome the AI? Pips to shields etc, looking at wing size, AI ranking and composition?

Outside of the loophole the NPC were using, I think AI should stay the same.
The problem is that the upgrade shocked everyone because they were used to 2.0 AI and the difficulty went from easy to hard over night. People were using easy mode builds. Given time (which requires not changing things so often), everyone will adapt and play better. A harder AI will make a great player better, but for this to happen, there will be casualties.

Haz RES is designed for wings of the best combat ships available or for the very Elite, so those people have content without getting bored. You need to go to low RES or high if you know how to handle your ship and low is too easy.
When did that happen did i miss the email? But i guess everything will be all right i just need to get another 50 % to be elite and it will be easy again ?

How did you understand that from what he said? It's completely backwards.

He says that HazRES should be hard enough so only wings should dare enter it or those who are really good at the game, regardless of what their ranks says in the game. Those who truly are good should have somewhere to put their skills to use. If you are 50% deadly and still think the game is hard, it'll be even harder when you become elite because clearly your in game rank doesn't represent your actual skill.

"Hello everyone. I like to do the most difficult challenges, but I dont like how difficult it is. As going to easier places hurts my fragile ego I'd like to ask FD to nerf the entire galaxy so everything is dragged down to my level. Sure, that'll spoil the fun for many people, but at least I can still pretend to be a top pilot. Thanks."

Any of these 'casuals' here able to explain why this makes sense?

Because they are used to get what they want. It is not a bad thing...and there's single player games allowing to choose part of story right out of bat, without going first parts trough.

ED is just not that kind of game. They have hard time to understand that. Majority of them are capable enough to figure out how to play with improved NPCs. They just choose not to.

I'm not 100% sure this is a joke anymore so I gotta check

Does anyone actually think that's how the scaling works and as you rank up you become more powerful?

While I do agree that the constant tweaks based in forum reaction is wayyyyy too knee-jerk and annoying, I vehemently disagree that the AI is too hard. It's harder than it was a year and a half ago, but still not hard.

Case in point: I get interdicted by a Dangerous Anaconda last night in my D-rated Cutter with a full cargo hold and which turns like a whale, and the plasma-shooting Anaconda gets blown to bits without me even losing shields. Yes, he was more maneuverable as high-rated AI now fly with 4 pips to ENG, but that also meant that his shields went down extremely fast. It was silly really. My turreted pulse lasers and MCs made short work of him, while the huge MC managed to land some shots too. I am not an amazing pilot, just decent. Key is just to have 4 pips to SYS, 2 to WEP for me. If/when I need to turn, I simply boost and briefly turn off FA, to get back on point.

I'll say this in addition: AI is now dense again. When 2.1 came out a high ranked NPC might follow you all the way to a station to try to take you out, but once they got close to the station, they'd turn around. Not so anymore. Now they go in guns-a-blazing only to get taken out by the Station and local security.

Truthfully, while tired of the constant tweaks I'd really like to see the AI get tougher and smarter over time. I'd like Elite to be Dangerous. Right now it's Elite Reasonably Safe.

I'm flying in my asp, have been interdicted by various ships at various skills so far, no real problem here, that doesn't mean there isn't one, but are you sure you are comparing them AI properly? what did you get attacked by? what level? have you fought such before? and remember they are meant to be harder, because before was quite easy.

For python, you may want to consider adding turrets if you are having issues keeping people on target, turrets have received a great upgrade.
