WHAT THE HELL! - AI way too strong now

Wasn´t there ONE SPECIAL thread for all the AI whiners?
But again, half a dozen of them here lately.

Mods ?

There is some quirks to iron out;

I accepted the interdiction request very recently of a FDS and I thought instead of embarrading him by a Python-like dismissal and leaving I wanted to see what hes loaded with....and bam...thermal attack melted my modules, he had SCBs arriving out of the void forever and chaff confettli like it was a 1970s royal wedding.

Then, i accepted 2 requests from deadly clippers and they flew intelligently, facing to shoot but...none...both didnt fire a spark. So, on one hand some are stil wayyyy OP and on the other, less capable than 2.0

I think that the way combat occurs for the trader makes higher level NPCs far more difficult to manage than in any rez site which is partly i think why the player base is at odds.
In rez, you hunt and are rarely the hunted, can choose your target, engage at will and at strategic times and angles.....not post interdictions...totally different. The trader faces a far harsher combat scenario than BH in rez requiring far far greater flight abilities if they choose not to continue on their path and fight not to mention the fact that BH are already in their combat ship compared to the trader.

Keep the NPCs high in capability for rez, through the roof even and lighten it down strongly for trader interactions.

Why?

Elsewhere people are crying out for areas with tougher enemies and easier targets elsewhere. There are areas with tougher enemies and people demand they should be just as easy?!?

Where's the middle ground? :/ People need to find it if we're going to have peace - I'm VERY happy that as a non-highly combat skilled pilot that I'm scared of haz-res and cz's now - isn't it really really strange that I wasn't?!?

Haha that was what I thought as I read through. 100 hours of shooting fish in a barrel doesn't make anyone a sharp-shooter sadly - and THAT was the bug/fault, not the new AI.

Yep, this is a major reason why I deleted my save. The beta test taught me that my alleged "rank" was largely a lie built on 6 months of "shooting fish in a barrel". Now I am Harmless again, I am facing AI opponents that are a lot less tought (Mostly Harmless to Competent.....with an occasional Expert thrown in from time to time).

It isn't designed for wings. It has to be able to work in solo. If it doesn't, it needs to be fixed.

I was just responding to a post saying HAZres requires a wing. I was just saying it would be broken if that is a the case.

When did that happen did i miss the email? But i guess everything will be all right i just need to get another 50 % to be elite and it will be easy again ?

Please learn to read, otherwise don't post. And if you post anyway please have the decency to apologise after realising that you don't have any idea what you are talking about.

Haz RES is designed for wings of the best combat ships available or for the very Elite, so those people have content without getting bored. You need to go to low RES or high if you know how to handle your ship and low is too easy.

I KNEW it. I knew they fiddled around with the AI again with .02.
How is the AI for you in 2.1.02?

How does referencing a post you yourself made prove anything?

They always did that looping thing, they were just kinda bad at it now they're better at it but it's easily broken when you get bored by a rapid flip of direction or pushing backwards a bit (give or take that one really annoying sidey)

I don´t think AI is too strong. I like that I have to adept, pick my targets wisely and keep an eye on my exit strategy. Even in my "endgame" Anaconda. If I want it way less stressful I go to a HighRes, the payment there is more than ok for almost no danger. It´s nice that I can choose the difficulty.

It almost sounds as if you're having fun :)

 Ziggy, you wouldn't believe it, but I had fun for the last couple of days. 2.1 brought the game more to life. It makes more sense now. More into this direction and bringing up the story to life (visible and connected to player action), and the game is good to go.

Very glad to hear that! Good on you for sticking around :D

Depends on if the rules say anything about shooting others off the road...

I feel like there should be a Saab joke here.

Yes, AI is a bit harsh. I just deleted my save and started from the scratch. Maybe engineers is a bit more polished when I get to meet them again.

So I was in my sidewinder in a nav beacon and tried to get some easy money. I attacked elite type 6. It didn't shoot back so I thought I just blow him up slowly when he suddenly turned towards me and zapped with railguns. Shields down and hull down to 70 percent. Huh, I turned away and got another zap though I was evading at the same time. This time hull got down to 3 percent. The last zap made my a flying fireball. So yeah, elite npc's are a little harsh but I was to one who started it [yesnod] Like said, if you are not up to it get some cops to help you.
