What type of installation did I build?

So after completing my main star port, I went on to build an installation. This is now completed as well. The thing is, I can't recall what I built!
In the system map it just says it's a completed construction, but I can't tell if it's a Relay, Space Farm or what.
Am I missing some obvious way to see more details on it?

Actually, there's a neat way to work it out, although it's clunky.

Go to the "rename facility" option, and the icon of the type you made will appear. It matches the icon in the new facility dialog

lol - that is a suitably obtuse solution for this game

That is provided that the icon is correct in the first place.

Considering the various mixups that happened with the various assets and their function, we cannot be 100% sure.

That's great. Is it documented anywhere what these icons mean? I cannot check anymore in the build menu, because all my build spots are filled and I don't have access to the build menu anymore .

Really. It occured to me yesterday that I cannot know what installation I built. And it really so. Only the symbol. Will check it tonight.

I built a "Relay", bring all mat to it and... nothing. The build is "complete" but doesn't allow me to finished it. So frustrating. Typical weird EDO tool.

The only reliable way of finding (and remembering) what you've done is to visit each installation you've completed, make a mental note of the details and then write it all down.

Is there nothing in the journal that we could scrape when visiting our constructions? Some unique internal keyword for the type of construction buried in some json variable perhaps?

Nope. Neither is the system architect listed anywhere.

I'd also pay good money to have my carrier contents saved to the journal when I dock, or even to a separate json file.

It does actually get listed now... but only when you make the initial claim.

That's more or less what I picked up on reading some of the talk and suggestions surrounding the subject on inara, where after one of the updates it was able to assign architects to systems properly after it. But only for claims made after the update...
