What was the point of locking down the Blackmount Outpost?

Having asked some folks who know their BGS stuff, there is of course a single status per minor faction, so activities against PRE in othe systems most almost certainly caused the lockdown that impacted the CG.

From my perspective, an unintented, but entirely welcome, side effect. Its going to be interesting to see if we can push it back into lockdown before the CG is done. At the very least, we can divert players to the combat CG and away from the outpost CG.

I honestly dont know if Singularity triggered to Lockdown or not. Weve working against specifically Pleiades Resource Enterprise in other systems nearby, with a lot of hostile actions in Maia also leading to a lockdown there. When I first saw the CG, I went immediately to that system, and it was already in lockdown. However we intended to keep it in lockdown as long as possible, but seems the lure of credits means we a drastically outnumbered.

There is more to it then 'we hate the feds'. Our specific goals are to have the federal capital ship removed the Palin Research, and get the final Thargoid base system permit lock removed. (This is where the megaship Overlook is understood to be, a PRE vessel).

There is no mechanic to make these things happen. Just as with Scarlet Ashcrofts mission against Wreaken to get the Col70 system permit lock removed, it being done because we want contrubute to the story, and in the hope that if we can build enough awareness, FDev might take note.

As it seems the lockdown is ended (we havent given up, but) it looks like the CG will complete, people will get there money, feds get yet another outpost, and its yet another set back for us. But, maybe the whole lockdown thing might make a few more people thiink about whats going on, and join us.

Also the be very clear, Im not in anyway angry or salty. We picked a side in a multiplayer game, and other people picked their side. It a game, and we're having fun.

CGs do seem a bit of crude way to drive the story, because there is a large number of people who will follow the money, and to few will stand against without, well, payment.

Thanks for that JR, good explanation.
