What was your the first Reward Package? How many upgrades have you done?

Wow! After reading all these pages of this post I'm amazed. Great community. So glad so many can do so much. I feel so bad I can't do anything yet. I have 27 cents in my pocket and $1.06 in the bank. I'm on SSD so no money till I get paid next month. I had $10 but gave it to my grandson's grandma to help buy him a winter coat. He is 6 and his brother is 3. And November and December is already gone. Renters insurance next month and 2 wonderful grandkids I have to get something with what little I have for Christmas. It won't be a lot but they don't care. They love grandpa. :D I think I might be able to do something in January. I hope so. I'm so looking forward to this game. Played the old many years ago when i wore a younger mans clothes. lol, I'm 60 now and still gaming. Sorry I haven't bought anything yet.

Hear hear! I'm in the same boat friend. Er.. was. Even when every penny is accounted for, I've still managed to save my pennies. When I first heard about the kickstarter (on these very forums!) I pledged the 30 or so to get the downloadable copy. I was crushed to near the end of the kickstarter, and have to DOWNGRADE to the mere 2 pound 'decal' level. Several months later I managed to 'jonty' up to the 'digital newsletter' level, and from there? Well, I just kept giving a little at a time. I've reached the 'Pirate' level and am close to the beta and soundtrack.. but I've got to get a new video card, I don't think my 512vram will cut it anymore. :(

Ah well. The things we do for the game we love ;)

I'm pretty poor these days, I started with the £30 tier, then upped it to £80, and then upped it to £85. I can't afford to take it any higher than this right now, and by the time I can, the Alpha will be well and truly underway... And probably the first round beta.

I'll practice patience like a Guru and wait until the 2nd round beta kicks off... Hopefully on schedule.

My problem is in the USA SSD is not much and everything is really expensive. I literally have 27 cents in my pocket and $1.06 in the bank till I get paid on the 3rd of November. It's like this pretty much every month. I pay renters insurance every other month so the month I don't pay I try to save that money. It depends on how many meds I have to renew that month. I have renters insurance next month. Then December is Christmas and whatever I can come up with will be used for my grandkids. My parents and brothers will get a card. I'm not complaining, its just the way it is. It's just real life happening. I'm used to it after 7 years. I'm very glad that others can afford to invest in the game and buy huge packages. That's a good thing. Sorry to hear you're in the same boat. Maybe someday governments won't be so crooked and we'll be able to live like normal people. We can always hope. :D

The remaining balance has finally been taken from my account.

Not all the balance, just the money I had planned to spend on the add-ons and postage & handling.

My Commander Name is still yet to be approved.

At first I went for the Premium Boxed set + international delivery.
Then I did a Jonty to be a Founder.
Ultimately, that wasn't enough, so I Jontied again. This time up to DDF.

My incrementals occurred WHILE I was making my first bid...

I started off at £20 for the game
Then decided on £35 for the Dark Wheel sequel
Then thought £40 for a name was only a fiver
Then thought the beta for only a tenner was worth it so looked to £50
Then just a tenner got me a boxed edition to go with my existing boxes of it, so £60
Then a big jump of fifteen to get private backers at £75
Then just a measly tenner for the founders world to £85
And just a fiver for a premium boxset to £90
Then just a tenner for 1st round beta at £100

So all in all i've only spent a max of £15 more than i'd intended to get the game at the £20 pledge tier.... even though I've spent £100 more because afterwards I bought a wall chart for £20, but that's a poster and not a pledge for Elite.

So logically looking at those steps, I've bought a poster for £20, the game for £20, and my max upgrade to the next tier was only £15, so it's not much money. Somehow that £55 left my acct as £120 though

NOTE, the additional tiers for starting with this or that ship for £42 and such likes weren't there when I pledged. It was only the bigger jumps, or I could have justified my way to my current level for £20 game, £20 poster, and tier jump max of something like £7 making it sound less :p

I started with the

£32 - Imperial Bounty Hunter

then to:

£90 - Premium boxed set

So I thought just 10 more so:

£100 - First round Beta

Then I was thinking 50 more for Elite Founder but Alpha beckoned so 100 more:

£200 - first round Alpha

now done, and looking forward to December and Alpha testing.

Oh as I live in the states paid the extra for shipping I think it was £10 more or something like that.

Jonty, that's a interesting word I keep hearing around hear, but no where else......

Is it Elite Speak or what?

It's a phrase that should have died a death ages ago, but people persist in its use.

Basically, some guy called Jonty kept upping his pledge during the Kickstarter.

I think I went straight in at £50 towards the end of the kickstarter. Since then I've been slowly upping by contribution until now I've just gained Alpha Access.

I'll be cancelling my SWTOR sub after the starfighter expansion to try and make DDF level.
