What/Where is that thing?

So anyone got any ideas what/where that line of stars is? I've just dropped in to Hegeia XK-Q b47-0, on a roundabout route to Sothis and saw this. Don't seem to be able to find anything similar on the map.

A course adjustment seems to have my ship flying in the right general direction.. Perhaps a report an another sceenie when I get a little closer.

I'm terrible for this sort of stuff...

I like to think I have a reasonable interest in astronomy and I tend to notice astronomical things IRL and in ED but I never bother to find out more information abut stuff.
I just think "Okay, I guess that's a thing" and leave it at that.

Trouble with ED is, most of this stuff is only noticeable from a distance and from a specific direction.
When you can actually go and examine it, as ED allows, is that when you get close to it you realise that, say, a bunch of stars that look like they're in a straight line are actually stars that are differing brightnesses and are actually hundreds of Ly apart.
They just look special from a specific distance/direction. :(

I had the same experience recently and I had to go and have a look.

I call this one The Hand of God.

It's taken from NGC 7822 Sector LC-V c2-2 and yes, after flying thousands of lightyears I carried out my first landing in pitch darkness just to take a photo.

Not the case here. There really is a line of O-class stars. I have heard that it may be an artifact of the stellar forge. There are several such lines of stars and they all point at Sol. I don't know how accurate that is. But it explains why you have to get a good distance out before the line becomes obvious.

Cheer up! If you have a reasonable interest in astronomy as you think, you've just discovered constellations! It's something!

Looks more like a volley ball player.
Last time I saw god's hands, there was a TV remote in one and a beer in the other.

That was Tuesday.

That's exactly what it is. Groups of star where we have the location in the night sky, but not the correct distance, so the forge just kinda stacked them up so they aren't too close but look right from the perspective of Earth. Since it doesn't really know the specific distances it just kinda took a stab at it.
I think someone said they could fix it but decided not to in order to spur conversation about it for players in the future, like now.

Given that they are all optically close as viewed from Sol, and they are all class-O, which are rare as hen's teeth except like this in nebulae, then it would seem more likely that they are in a tight cluster. Now that would be amazing to look at.
