What will happen to thargoid gameplay after the war

Hallo. I am a bit late but I am just now finishing to equip my first anti Thargoid vessel.

Anybopdy knows what's in store for this gameplay after the invasion ends?

The Prophecy says that there will be a second coming, a wave intent upon the annihilation of their brethren. But us, having stolen their vengeance from them, shall be the target of their insectile justice.

My guess is human thargoid ships manned by corrupted pod people. Building a ship that can swap out to anti human ships weapons easily.

NHSS will still be around at the fringes of the bubble for AX activities.

Not so sure about titans, my guess is the thargoid will send 1 or 2 to attack us every 6 months.

I'd definitely like to see these gameplay loops remain in the game in some manner, including Titans, spires, etc. It'd be an awful shame for some of the most exciting content, that's been developed over years, to simply disappear from the game. Especially considering the time and effort players have put into learning the mechanics, and then designing/building specialised ships to fill those roles.

I like the idea of the odd Titan incursion into the Bubble, but having an area of space where the Thargoids can fought reliably would be advantageous for AX pilots as well I think.

Well, now i am ready for the fight at last... I am here in sol awaiting for something to happen, but...
While i was waiting for something to happen, I brought here my python and started collecting wreckage and escape pods, only... It serms that the rescue contacts in sol have all been deactivated.
Where shall I unload my wreckage components and occupied space pods?

In case you are looking for trouble err action, we currently got 2 battles going on in Sol, one near Rhea (apparently the one from yesterday) and at the Moon, a new one with 2 Farragut battle cruisers. Feel free to add me but you need to join the AXI private group server asI currently serve as anchor to get more people in.

Ok, now I have finally had my first encounter. First battle, one scout and one marauder. Won, no problems.
Second battle.
I headed for a threat 4 signal.
I expected a situation like in the youtube tutorials, with some time to aporoach, scan and assess the situation.
I landed in a situation with a horde of marauders, one interceptor and 2 swarms already deployed. Overwhelmed by fire and game over in less than 2 seconds.
It's a bug, or now in the final battle thongs have become a lot harder?

If it was me... I'd continue the alien clear out in Sol. Make the whole of Earth Mars etc, caustic wastelands then have small City areas in a dystopian caustic set-up and expand the war to three-legged Thargoid individuals. Expand the combat suit with AX personal weapons and maybe another ground vehicle. Rescue, search and destroy etc. that way you make Earth landable with manageable cities or zones. Think Elite's version of helldivers...

Not such a bad idea.
The game dynamics could be used also to add some spice to exploration. Add some animal fto fight and sample...

Of course, the other thing to consider is that once we have mopped up and dealt with the Invasion, we need to find their nest and clear them out, which is likely to be a much harder task for an expeditionary force. Or this will just keep happening.....

It is hard to imagine that Frontier would just abandon AX as a game play loop. They would lose a lot of players and social media content, which from a company perspective is basically just free advertising.

From a story perspective the next logical step would be to take the fight to Thargoid space. I believe that Thargoid space is currently permit locked. If so then this could be an opportunity to tie the new base building feature into the war. Maybe you need a certain number of human controlled systems a specific distance from a permit locked system to unlock it.

This would bring similar game play loops as we have now but with a twist. Move into a system. Build it up. Fight off invasions. Establish significant presents in enough systems to unlock a system for attack. Defeat the Thargoids there. Establish human presents. Advance unlocking more systems until a Titian is vulnerable. Kill the Titian. Rence and repeat.

After that, the game could move into the insurgency and terror attach phase where random Titian shows up in either Thargoid space or the Bubble and must be put down.

Plus, let's not forget Colonia!

I think there is going to be plenty of AX game play in the future. It is truly the only real end game play content Elite Dangerous has.

I will keep my Ax Krait stored and even will upgrade to some guardian weapons.
I am sure this will not be the end of all Thargoids.

Sadly I'm very late to the party with no AX ships or weapons, but what they did to the Titan specifically - the whole graphical and atmospheric thing is like 10/10. Good job FdeV! It's like a great SF movie. Too bad I can only watch others do it over YT. :(

Yes to both, especially the latter sentence! Fingers crossed AX combat is here to stay!

That's what I thought the very first time I saw it in game. The graphics, the eery sounds, the effects, the whole immersion is fantastic! You are not too late yet! Pick up a nanite torpedo launcher and AX missiles, the pulse neutralizer, heat sinks, caustic sink launchers plus a thermal vent beam laser helps. You can buy all of that on a rescue megaship except for the thermal vent beam laser. Extra stuff like AFMU and so on helps. It's a lot easier than fighting Hydra or Medusa Interceptors. All you should watch on Youtube is how to approach the Titan to get there as well as what to do when you are there (close the vents, then hit the thermal vent thingie).
