What would you do

I have a python worth 127m (give or take a few creds) and 30 mill cash. Do I trade for a bit longer and buy a conda , trading in my python or should I stick with the python and wait until I can afford the conda without a trade in. What would you do.

I have a similar dilema, currently running a clipper but have enough to teade for a python, however I love the clipper so am thinking if keeping the clipper and running the grind until I can buy a conda aswell.

Bry.

I wouldn't consider a conda until I had St least twice that in assets. Not just purchase price and any half decent upgrades, but multiple insurance and cargo costs are huge

Yea, I was thinking about trading in solo for a while , that is until I don't have to worry about insurance

I have an Anaconda. It's absolutely worthless without at least 150mil in upgrades. I'm actually going to cash in my 100 mil FDL just to scrape enough together for the powerplant alone.

Get a Type 9 and trade in that for a while (as I have) and then, maybe, you'll be wealthy enough to run an Anaconda.

I might just do that. Thanks for the suggestions all :)

I'm about 3 weeks on from having spent two weeks agonising about the same sort of thing, but it was more about the 51 mil python power upgrade.

I decided to sell the python and got a T9. It was the right decision but in an oddly wrong way.

T9 was flown for about 8 hours, adding about 42 million to my funds. Very boring, so I mothballed it, dusted of my trusty asp "Fair Winds" and discovered res BH.

Brilliant.

Will do a few more hours in the T9 at some point and buy back a python. Anaconda can wait. Fun can't. ;)

I'd be happy with a python. Saving for it atm. Trade with teeth. I have a vulture for pure combat and a cobra for general purpose exploring/small trades/bounty hunting.

Don't bother selling a big ship, you lose too much on the trade-in. Save up a bit more for a relatively cheaply outfitted trading conda, strip your python of equipment and leave it up on bricks until you have enough to outfit both of them.

I thought I would be also but then I thought the same about the ASP. Its the grind that does it to ya. Buy the ASP and make more creds than the Cobra. Then get fed up and want more. Then buy the Python to make even more and, then the same old story that its still not enough so now I might lean towards the Type 9 and pray I can outrun any interdictions without loss

If you're going to trade just buy the conda you will make more trading in that.
this is the cheapest "complete" setup that I would run

Just look at that jump range, and cargo capacity. Look at it!
even if you don't buy all the bells and whistles that's some good trading potential.

heres something in your price range

Yeah condas are expensive.

Only you can decide which ships you want to use for what.

The Python is excellent for everything except exploring and can even be adequate at that.

The Anaconda set up properly $$$ can also be very good at any role, but is a huge investment with large re-buy costs that you risk when using.

All of the ships in the game are fun to drive if you set them up for a specific role to meet a specific goal.

My trading rank is Tycoon, but I still use a hauler for taxi service to pick up stored ships.

Bad move

The risk/reward makes that idea a BAD choice.

Never drive without insurance NEVER!!! - even in solo. You should always have the re-buy times 3 plus enough to fill with cargo, even in solo.

If you regularly read the forums you must have seen all the rage quits from those that lost it all due to flying uninsured.

Do yo really want to risk being put back into a Sidey and starting over?

going to have to agree with this despite my past of always upgrading as soon as I could without insurance. Even I didn't fly a conda without insurance. Just don't, and play in open just find a route that isn't pirated.

I agree with what a few others have said. Get a T9 now. I had a Python and was thinking of trying for a Conda. I did the math and trading in my Python (A spec) let me get a T9 with money to spare. It took me about 12 hrs to buy my Pyhon back. If I had kept saving by using the Python, it would have taken 19 hrs to do the same thing.

I then had a T9 to mega-trade, and a Python for the missions and pew pews. It wasn't long before I had enough to trade in the T9 for a Conda. Good stuff.
