As someone who as spent the grand sum zero in the store, what I would make me spend money would be an npc crew member to fill that empty seat. No stats buff, just purely cosmetic with voice acting and animation.

Sell ship kit parts individually (@ say £0.50 each) as currently most of the kits available have perhaps 2 or 3 parts I'd use, with a decent fleet size it becomes expensive real quick!
