Why no new ships with this? 2 years and no new ships is a bit disheartening. Or did they and I just can't find it?

Nothing happened to it. It has never existed in this game, and likely never will.

It's not very surprising, considering how heavily Odyssey on release is on-foot play oriented. Maybe later, who knows (E: And I mean new ships get added, not that Panther Clipper gets added). Even the emergent SRV/Odyssey "crossplay" seems really ad hoc, the AI doesn't really have a clue fighting SRVs.

They don't usually add new ships specifically to the DLC do they? As I recall Cobra IV aside, they have appeared for all players.

I believe it's still possible that we'll get new things, like ships or SRV's with Odyssey, but not until console release.
Because there are two separate game worlds you can switch between right now (Horizons and Odyssey), having additional ships in Odyssey that are unavailable in Horizons would make it too complicated, or impossible to coordinate.

Maybe, but 1) there's just one previous example of DLCs, 2) the present unmarrying of Horizon/Odyssey worlds probably was more out of necessity than out of choice.

its a Reference to a ship that is in the files for ages, the only change that happend at "some point" was an updated Description, which means rubbish, and a placeholder "model" that is in it for ages as well(and with placeholder i mean ,it references a model, we do not know the model itself to actualy exists last time i checked).
Code, and Text gets updated all the time in games, without the devs actualy planning to introduce the content anytime soon, if at all.
For all we know the updated description from the Odyssey alpha may simply do to one of the Writers, or heck, even programmers, just being bored one day and having some time to write something up. Or to mess with dataminers(devs do that at times)

Fdev CLEARLY communicated that there would be no new ships at the launch of Odyssey for... months now honestly.

and while they do not "attach them to the DLC" they do usualy launch them as part of the DLC updates, like horizons
BUT the Krait MK IV was ONLY purchasable if you owned horizons. so there is precedent

I don`t understand, WHY do folks need new ships? There are already 37 (38) ships in Elite for ANY taste and purpose... Not so much to do with them though. :cry:

tbf, i get why people want the panther clipper... Given it was Teased since horizon iirc(well teased sinc kickstarter, but "teased" in horizon agian)
